Default Little brother + Revo == go backwards?

Hi all,

I let my little brother replace my (stripped) spur gear with a metal one, and he did the clutch bell at the same time. When we started it up, it goes in reverse only, ie, whether the selector is switched to reverse or not. I checked both the directional switches on the transmitter, and that the servo arm was actually switching between forward and reverse when toggled. I can't figure out what he could have done to cause this. Has anyone seen this before?

Many thanks,
Tai

Tell him to install the forward only conversion so you never have to worry about reverse messing up ever again.

That's an option but some of us like having reverse.

i would guess it doesnt idle low enough now with the new gears... the engine has to be idling so low before it will change from forward to reverse... and if the slipper isnt set the same as it was before the the trans might pick up the slower rpm and the gears in the trans might still be turning not allowing it to stop turning and allow it to shift... loosen the slipper and then try it...
im only saying this is the problem since it is involved in the parts that were replaced...

hey you should check out inside the tranny before replacing parts
1st make sure its idling low enough, a fast way to check this is shut off the truck toggle the forward/reverse switch, then fire the truckback up, and see if its in the gear you selected (forward or reverse.
if that dosent work try my second advice. 2nd! pull the tranny (very easy pull the e clipc and the 4 screws that mount the tranny then the break) open it up and check it out see whats up in there, to check take it apart make sure everything is together rite as per the manual then put it all together, put like 3 screws that hold the tranny together in and pull or push the pin that the servo arm and see if its all right ect...

you dont need to replace any parts your little bro probably disconedted the reverse servo arm i do when i want to replace the spur and if it is 2 teeth off it will not shift hard turn off the power on the truck then try pusshing the reverse servo arm twards the tranny start her up and see if it goes forwards if it dose then you need to ajust the servo arm

the reverse selector arm should be inside the tranny, if it's pulled out oyur in reverse, if it's all the way in it's in forward.

You guys are good, thanks! that was (part of) the problem. The selector arm was in the out position and the servo can't seem to push it back in. It can pull it out just fine though. How do I adjust the selector arm?
