i would go with a failsafe that taps into the radio and servo. those return springs are o.k. as long as the receiver doesnt loose contact. usually in a run away the throttle servo sticks at half or full throttle. a return spring will be useless in that situation.

That's a throttle return spring not a faailsafe. TRS's are fine for what they do but are useless for radio glitches or low battery issues. Get an electronic failsafe, they're only about $20, because, believe me your truck will still run away like that.
