Default OS 18TM....WOW!!!!

Just broke in my os18 tonight and all I have to say is WOW! Started up like nothing, stalled only once...I did have to richen the hsn a little...5 tanks and it runs ssssooooo nice. Idles way nicer than my 3.3, even pulls wheelies already. Can't wait to see what it's like after another 10 tanks...when it "wakes up" so to speak. Makes me wonder of my 3.3 was bad from the very start cause it never idled great from day one...guess I'll have to break my new 3.3 in, too, when I get it back from Traxxas, and see the difference first hand. For those thinking about the os 18tm...don't think...just go buy one...you won't be dissappointed!!!

I would have picked a 21 one up in a heartbeat...but still...you can't beat the price on the 18.

Nope the OS18 is a great deal for being so easy to drop in. I got greedy and went with a .26 maxx but next time I'm going with either a 18 or 21tm.

put another checkmark by my name for another very happy person with the os.18tm. it was kind of a pain to break in cause i broke it in in my t-maxx and it had the ez start on it which didn't have the balls to spin it over good. now i have it in my revo with a pullstart and oh baby baby is that thing fun.

I made sure my EZstart was fully charged and didn't have any problems...way better than my old 3.3 to start.

you need a rotostart backplate that fits the trx 2.5 3.3 engine

is it reliable? easy to tune? start up good and quick? more speed and torque than trx 3.3?

sure hope so....WAY easier to find the right tune compared to my 3.3....break in went couldn't have went any better, started up great and once it warmed up for a minute idled like a charm without any messing around...definitely more low end but it's a little shy on top speed (if you gear it different it should be close to the 3.3).

actually performance wise the O.S and 3.3 are similar, the main difference there is the O.S has more low end (considering that the O.S is .02 smaller then the 3.3 that makes for an excellent engine), while everything else the O.S excels in.

I had to dremel out a little spot on one part of the 2.5 rotostart backplate to make room for the header gasket.
