Default T-Maxx Spur Gear Question

I tried but the search on here is horrible. How tight should I make my spur gear? All the way tight and one turn out?

Default RE: T-Maxx Spur Gear Question

i just replaced my stock spur gear on my 2.5 t-maxx with a robison racing 72t and new slipper pins. When i put at all together the spur gear would ride crooked at idle then straighten up when throttle applied some one told me it was that the new gear was thinner then the original and the slipper pins were not broke in yet. well first run of 10-15 minutes the original clutch bell gear stripped out AAAHHHH!!!! and yes the gears were lined up properly some one help before i bash this money pit truck i bought

Is it possible that you have something binding the drive train. We were talking about this today at the lhs. If you get a rock or something stuck between the gears its gunna damage something one way or the other. Since spur gears are usually plastic they are the first to go . On a side note i was always taught to use a paper meshing system to set the gear mesh. To this day i havent gotten it right.

Is there someone else that can offer info on steel spur gears and bell housings.
