Default TRX3.3 rebuild

Hi guys

I'm putting a new piston and sleeve in my TRX3.3.

When I was disassembling the engine, I never noticed which way around the piston goes.

Does the cut out at the bottom of the piston face the carb, or the exhaust?

Thanks!!

hey, the cut part goes towards the carb, so when it rotates it does not hit the crank.

yes the cut part of piston faces the clutch bell and the little oil hole at the bottom of the rod faces the same way

What's the cost difference in a rebuild vs the exchange program? Is it worth it to rebuild? I'm pretty new to nitro so I know this will come up at some point. Thanks!

U are definitely better off doing the exchange program because by the time u add up the cost of a new piston, sleeve, and connecting rod; it will end up costing more than the engine replacement plan(ERP). So, the ERP is definitely the better way to go as doing that only costs about 110-120 us where as new parts for the rebuild can add up to 130 bucks or more in some cases...

IMO the best way to go is buy a new engine off ebay for the same price the ERP costs and that way you have the older engine for parts
