Default Change clutch friction pads (T-Maxx 3.3 4908)

Hi.

I am new to this forum, well, I've spent my time so far reading.
I have searched all over for some sort of guide how to change friction pads on my T-Maxx 3.3 (4908).

I am new to RC racing, had my truck for a week, and then one of these pads came loose, which made the truck run poor.

So, any nice forum member that can give me a good guide on how to remove and change the pads?

So far, I removed the slipper nut, but the problem is removing that big spur gear, to access the friction pads.
Do I need to remove the engine all together to remove the spur gear? I hope I don't need to.

Should I replace with stock? Or are there better options?
The current one seems to have broke after 10 tanks.

Any advice is highly appreciated!

Btw, I love my T-Maxx so far!

do you mean the pads on the slipper clutch? ( were the spurr gear goes on) if to take of the nut that holds the spurr gear on and pull off the spurr and the pads just pop off

Hi and thank you t-maxxmaniac!
Judging by your nick, you are the right man for me! :P

I am from Sweden, and sometimes struggle with the correct english word for things. Let me try to explain with pictures.

So, on the picture. The (A) is what I need to replace. And when I have removed the nut that holds that big spur gear, I can't slide it out from the axle because part of the motor is in the way (B).

yep, gotta pull out the motor...if you take out the four screws that hold the motor on to the mount it will come right out....then when you get the gear off take to 4 allen screws off and the pads should pop right off...

Thank you, and that one might not look worn, but one of them was completly missing, and another had some bits missing.
I will go unscrew the engine. Do I then need to calibrate the spurgear again?

chances are the mesh will be a little off....you can move the motor around by looseing the screws on the bottom of the chassis....under the motor....when you think you have the mesh right runn a small peice of papper bettween the spur gear and the clutch bell it should be like jagged when its right

Oh, one more thing.
Is it normal for them to break after 10 tanks of driving?
Are there any aftermarket that is better?

the only way i could think that would happen is if the slipper was loose...it might have space enough to fall out..my stock ones a fine after about 6 gallons

I just got it off... they look like this.
And too loose, well, I can't imagine it being so loose it can fall off, and still run!?
