I would consider disconnecting the front diff. The less friction the better
With just 2 wheel drive it will be a wheelie king You want power to all wheels. Example Subaru WRX, Mitshibshi EVO, Nissan Skyline.
This is true, but he could get the traxxas adjustable wheelie bar and put it all the way down and the front wheels would barely come off the ground

I am going to try both ways but what i am concerned about is stopping. My rustler will skid about 25 yards before i can actually stop and that is if i dont turn sideways and flip over
You will need to find a long straight road, and slowly slow it down... Also you can upgrade your brakes, it might help

yeah i could see that being a problem with no front wheel to dig in

with that low of a center of gravity i doubt it would be much of a wheelie king. also how often do you see a 4 wheel drive car run on the salt flats. im not say i go there or anything im just saying from what i see on tv if that counts for anything

Umm, yeah that is definitely a problem (the braking part..). When my Savage was in 2WD, bringing it down from WOT became a chore and it started to get a little scary. Usually it would skid more than 70ft +/- with the rear wheels being dragged uselessly behind. This isn't a problem if you have a dedicated open area to run on, but if you run on the street like me... well you might want to stick with 4wd. Don't bother with a wheely bar, if you set the truck right then it wont wheely. Gearing it up with some suspension tuning will kill any wheelies, make the rear end very soft and you will need all the gearing you can get to get past 60mph.

the 4x4 might keep it more stable at high speeds, try it both ways. could you post pics of the new mill side by side with the factory one? im trying to get a visual size comparison. if i remember right you did buy an axial right?

by mill you mean truck correct? and yes i got the axial .28rr.

no mill as in power mill the engine, im just trying to see the physical size difference between the 2.5 and the axial. could you sit them side by side alone and snap a pic? preferably with the axial out of its protective force field lol i mean plastic bag

thanks-cat

racers edge chassis. I was going to turn it around. I am going to finish it up at the shop. I have a feeling that i am going to have issues with the linkages

Looks good. I wonder if the 2.5 transmission will hold up to the power though.

Looks like you need a different header too. I had the same problem.

Which header did you use? I am planning on a BB conversion this summer with an Axial 32. Maybe your advice can help us both out

The revo spec slipper clutch kit installed

before....

after.....

Here is the stock 22 tooth .8 pitch clutch bell on a big block. For everyone who is thinking about doing a big block you will need the Traxxas #s 5422 (Flywheel nut) and 5426 (Spacers and shims).

Looks good... I wish I would have stayed with the stock spur and clutchbell setup on my BB. I kept hearing it won't work from people on here... when the motor and 1/8th CB, clutch, spur, and flywheel got here I noticed all you need to make the stock CB work is a spacer. Now all the 1/8th stuff is out of the packaging so I'm stuck with it. Guess I need to talk my LHS into carrying MGT spurs and slipper pegs.

I love seeing the difference between the trx and the axial... There is nothing like a BIG BLOCK

Looks good there donkey!!! like ur choice of engines too!!! just make sure u get the correct gearing for both engines because if not, it probably will cause "un-wanted" results....

Yup a spacer and flywheel nut. the stock flywheel nut will not tread on a sg shaft (big block). If i cant hit the speeds i am wanting, i am going to go with the big block clutchbell also. Traxxas makes a 40 tooth spur gear that will mesh with a big block clutch bell.

So what spur gears are you using that are 1.0mm pitched? Can you send me a link?

They are for the LOSI mgt. Uses the stock tmaxx slipper clutch setup though so I don't think you can use em unless you ditch the revo clutch.

http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/372138.asp

I like this setup because it has less rotational mass then the revo clutch. As long as you run pegs in all the holes your good. The drawback is you can't use traxxas slipper pegs and around here mgt spurs and slippers are hard to find.
