Ok guys I just want to know how to make the maxx bashable enough to keep up with my savage. I agree that the maxx will out handle the savage and it is faster than the savage as long as its not on its lid. So heres a few pics of the area id like to make better... Looks like the easy out set is gonna geta work out tonight..

I called you a fanboy becuase you keep saying sell it and buy another savage... It is already upgraded and he has a savage. Why sell it. If your not happy with the axial sell it and buy a better motor. 2 or 3 pounds is huge when it comes to handling and power to weight ratio. Now it can take any motor the savage can and the weak points are fixed.
The weak points are not fixed or else this tread would not exist. And yes thats what I meant when I said it appeals to kids. Its a cool looking truck no doubt.

What he meant when he said its appealing to kids is it looks like a classic monster truck. The other vehicles dont. So a 12 year old would go for the t-maxx for looks instead of a savvy or revo.
He would sell his maxx because then he could buy another savage (the savage xl is AWESOME! I have one) because its better than the maxx. (No offence), and please dont call us fanboys because thats what gamers call eachother when there battling over xbox 360 vs ps3.

I've seen more T-Maxx on the track then the Savage.
but then still T-Maxx is junk and only kid's buy it lol I don't get it?

The bulk heads are the ones that came in the parts box they are the infamous integy.... Yes I know thay are junk but I figured that they would have to be better than the broken plastic ones that came with it? Maybe I was wrong. This is what it looked like after a 3 foot jump and landing on that corner nobodys a perfect jumper all the time.

Thats exactly what I thought they were. Integy is no better than the plastic ones. Integy is for shelf queens. They look great but cant handle any kind of abuse. Get some good bulks installed and your problems will be gone. That seems like the only weak part of the truck thus far.

I would say at least the rear set because in a crash anding or tumble its the rear that takes most of the hit because of all the weight in the rear.

How about a good set of screws for this thing as they should be replaced also. And what about blue loc tite or should I go with something stronger? Toomanytoys thanks for all your help.

Stock screws will work fine but a good set of stainless or hardened would be better. I would not worry too much about the screws. The FLM or NE bulkheads are very ridgid so It dont give the screws any chance to bend. A very tiny bit of locktite can be used but dont over do it. Like I said earlier I have a highly modded T maxx and have done just about everything I can to make it bashable.

So would everyone agree that with RPM arms, and better bulkheads the t-maxx will take a pretty good beating?
I havent gotten to run mine enough to know yet since im just getting around to getting it running after it sitting for a couple of years.

T-Maxx vs. Savage.. I've been around a week and I'm tired of hearing it already. You guys do know your arguing over two remote controlled, nitro powered, toy monster trucks right?![Wink](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
My car is faster than your savage.(just saying that b/c I own a T-Maxx)

Yes the t maxx with rpm,s and different bulkheads make it alot better than stock. The next biggest upgrade would be teh rear drive shaft and axles. The rear shaft will eventually twist and break. Stock diffs wont handle too much more power than the stock motor so if you upgrade power you need to upgrade diffs.

I probably wont go to anything over a .18. Im really not worried about crazy power, just want something quick(which it should be with even the stock 2.5), and something that is pretty reliable that i can go and run several tanks through and just have some fun. Im normally not real hard on my stuff, but i do like to jump some, so we will see how the maxx holds up for me. I like the savage a lot too, so if i find the maxx isnt enough or if i get bored with it i may sell it and try a savage[8D] I think it will hold up just fine for what im doing though. I can always stick the better traxxas driveshafts in it too.

The stock 2.5 maxx will hold up fine for little bashing and just running around. If you find yourself doing bigger jumps then at least upgrade the a arms. The bulkheads hold up good till you start getting crazy with jumps. If you are not real hard on it then I would just keep it stock. Dont get me wrong tha Savage breaks too. Its not bulletproof. Savage has weak a arms also but it can take some huge jumps without a problem.

If the stock bulkheads will hold up to pretty much everything but the big jumps, then ill be fine. I dont mind upgrading to RPM arms later down the road once i run it some, and I probably will VERY seldom be doing the big jumps, so sounds like I should be alright. I know they all break. Thats why im not really brand loyal. I like certain things about most every nitro truck out there, and they all have weak points. This is a hobby which involves upgrading and innovation in order to make things how you want them. Sounds like ill be fine with the old t-maxx
Ill just upgrade as i go along and find the need to[8D]

The only reason i would take a savage over a t-maxx is the big block, better servos, and tons more durable. It also has a claimed speed of 45mph. The t-maxx and savage are about the same speed.
