The Lanc looks awesome. Does anyone know of a set of plans or kit of a Halifax in about the same size, possibly a little larger? I have started drawing up a set of plans on my own but I think it would be faster if i could just find some already drawn. Thanks...

I know of no plans for the Halifax. It would be a great build though. I was playing with the tail markings tonight. I painted a small card with the colours needed for the tail. Then affixed the cardboard with tape to see how it looks.

Started working on the fuselage roundels. I am using the pantry shelf paper as my template. Seems to be working fine. Started on the fins as well. Figured I would do the white, while I did the white on the roundels. Insignia Red will be next, to finish the roundels on the fuse and wing.

Well lots done since my last post. The method for doing the roundels with the pantry shelf liner worked well. The fuselage roundels are complete as well as the markings on the verticle fins. Way to much masking involved (LOL) but the end result is good. Added two pics of it assembled, and it is starting to look like an airplane.

Painted up the black lines on the wings. I believe these were used for walking in a safe area without causing damage. Took 4 hours to mask, 1 min to paint and about 30 sec to remove the masks.

Put the beast together today. I am very happy with the result so far. Still need to do some minor markings and weathering. Engines still need to be installed as well as the radio gear. This will be done after Clearcoating.

Did the wing and stab cores come from Bob Holman? I have the Golds' plans for it as well, and was wondering where to get the wing/stab cores from.... thanks!

Thanks for the reply Rich.
The paint I used was Chevron Perfect Paint. It comes either in a can or a spray can. I used the spray cans and it turned out well. The aluminum is also a spray can. I applied it after the rivets and panel lines. It is a great way to see any imperfections prior to the finish colours. The black is Endura paint. It adheared well to the Perfect Paint. We clearcoated it a couple weeks ago with Endura Flat, however the finish came out like a felt appearance. It was spotty with a powdery look. I have spent the last couple days taking it off with a brilo pad. It looks good now but still has a slight greyish tinge to it. With a little weathering it should look good. Lots of elbow grease thats for sure. It tried the Chevron "Dead Flat Clear" on a sample piece, however that came out with a slight gloss, to glossy for what I am looking for. The finishing sure is taking a long time, but it will be well worth it in the long run.

Well I have been busy the last couple of weeks. I have recieved 1 engine so far, and three motor mounts. As soon as the other parts come in, I will be able to install all the engines. I have however mounted all three engine mounts, and have the holes drilled for the fourth mount. All fuel lines have been drilled and cowlings cleaned up, to allow for the engines to clear the cowlings. Still lots to do. Can't wait to get the other mount and engines. Then I can start with the fuel system, then the linkage. I am looking forward to having all four engines turning at the same time, should be a great noise.

I am planning on using 4 OS.25 FX 2 strokes. As soon as I get them I can finish. Looking forward to getting it set up and conducting taxi tests.

Probably too late for you craig, but did you check out the prototype of the new lanc kit ? (they tell me it will be ready for Sandown (UK) by May). Cost ? the guy tells me less than £100 ($160).

Volkan I think you have the wrong version in mind, the one in the pictures is being released at Sandown (May), and will be a 100% complete kit of parts (plans, wings, windscreens etc) for about £70 ($100).
Its not on their web site but you can email them for futher details

Thanks for the comments. All engines are installed as well as the fuel system for each engine. Had them all running the other day and what an awsome sound. They were all running within 100 RPM of each other. I am mainly concerned with the reliability instead of excact RPM. I am just finishing up minor components of the landing gear and servo installation. The balancing is my next area of concern. I think I may need a good amount of lead in the nose. Next time I get it outside I will take some better pictures. My knees are already begining to shake in anticipation of the first flight. However I will need to conduct several taxi tests at low and high speed prior to it's maiden voyage.
