Saw your idea on the four engine Pheonix.
Check the picture attached. Something like that??? The plane weighs 6.5 pounds empty,,four .32's?? or LA 40's??
The nacelles can be moved in and glued closer, but the original screws for mounting will not have much to grab...Uh..If you cut into the wing..under the nacelle mount, where could not be seen, you could install blind nuts inside the wing, bolt and glue then!! Mmmm

Now where did I put Neils email??..Rats, have already glued the nacelles in the proper place, you would need to move inward and a little sanding, not much to get a good fit on the wing.

One brick coming up..might be a good way to practice warbirds..Getting closer on the build, but no time to post process. Like always will wait till last minute then hours catching up with build story.

The CURRENT and stock center to the fuse is now 10.5". My two cents is IF and I say IF someone were to do this. Move and glue the inboard nacelles center around 6.5", which would allow up to 12" props safely and then move the outer nacelles to a similar centerline to the inboard. My two cents, based upon the Cedar B-17..You would NOT need 40's unless something like LA's. Good .25's to .35's would work and be lighter. The prototype Ceder B-17 has magnum .32's, with inefficient three blade props and will go straight up..and that was before the new fifth engine.
Neil WILL pick up these nacelles again, but YOU asked for it!!

PS To nchrome on the P-61..Geeze..you guys don't miss much!!! That plane is over two years old,,can't or won't leave in the Garage in Houston in the summer. To date, around 20 flights and three engine outs..not a big deal..other than what happens to my heart rate!!!
(Mental Note)..be more careful of back ground..you would not like to have seen the picture of my bare feet in one post up at the Phoenix build that I spotted before posting...now there is a MENTAL IMAGE!!!

The picture is the beginning of my 4-engine project. The nacelles will consist of two parts, a wing mount and a tank and engine module. The picture shows a wing mount.
I finally solved the long idle problem. It was a tuning and glow plug issue and the sweet spot wasn’t being found. The engines will idle for ten minutes now.

I like three engine models but almost no one builds them. They are much easier to fly and engine out is almost a non-event.

aND i THOUGHT i WAS DARING!!!! Man O Man you guys impress me!!! The reason that I am not afraid of multi's is the fact that I fly fom my own (small) 300' runway, which is slightly raised, but has 20'+ tall scrub-oak trees in 3 out of 4 quadrants. 1 engine or 4, I have to have engines that do NOT quit on me. I made my own "on-board glow" system by adding 1.2vlt 'C' batts (1 or more used also for good a CG), through a Radio Shack micro-switch that is activated by a slim tail-wheel spring wire bent to fit in the (un-used) throttle servo-arm holes. Because of the spring's flex, I can have the glow turn on at 1/4 throttle on down, shutting off again as I throttle up. I have my proto-type on my Funtana 90 with a TT 120 FS, and I have never, ever, had a flame out. Same as when I had the same system on the same plane with my OS 91FX: Never a single flame out. My next project (on the bench as I type) is a tail-dragging Dual Ace with retracts. Then, when I grow up, I want to build the Giant Telemaster with 4 ST 90's, all with the onboard glow I designed.
BTW, my onboard glow system also has a 'Momentary Switch' in the fuse side that elimiates my need for a glow driver. Push the button, hit the starter, and she fires up. No fuss, no muss, and no fingers closer to the prop than those that hold the starter... I do love the safety of it all.
I think I have about $18 in each onboard system.

My four engine trainer. With 4 OS FP.25's it's way over powered and engine synch is very important with the outer engines so far out they have a lot of yaw pull.

Had a 4 engine Kadet Senior about 10 years ago, just rudder.........she flew great..........4 OS 25's, would fly on 2...........would fly well but not hold altitude on 1 engine. Have had many 2 engine Kadet Senioritas and now a 3 engine. Am doing another 4 engine version now. I keep em basic and crude...............due to the likely hood of a short life span. Lot's of fun and sounds great.

No issues what so ever when flying. The bottom picture is showing the depression on water from air cushion created when flying at high speed and very low.

The project specs 1- Own design
2- Triple engine 3*ryobi 31cc gas engines
3- third engine a pusher twin tail boom, twin rudder
4- final wight about 17kg, thrust about 30lbs, wingspan about 4m
Present status - still under construction.
