Frank did you send to my email as well I never received any information from you. Let me know if you need my email address again.

Mike;

Yes, please send me your email address. The reason you didn't get the articles I sent was that the file was too large. I will send it in two consecutive emails.

Sorry for the delay.

Regards, Frank

Little update. Made some good progress on the fuselage.

Main gear will get some changes. I never liked the idea that all weight of the aircraft is put on the shaft of the retract at the wooden main gear board.
I changed the board to a fibreglass board. The gear from century jets is far too expensive in my opinion. So I did my own.
The board will be operated via rotating shaft on a standard servo, like I've seen somewhere in this thread. The boards will be led in IGUS linear slides.

Front gear is fitted and operating.

http://youtu.be/JsjGUc2DJDg Area around the ramp is reinforced by carbon rovings as suggested by Oltimer (thanks for the hint).

Next step is motor testing tomorrow. I need to set all four ramoser 4 blade props to the same pitch so power will be identical on all motors.

To be continued...

Mike;

I will try with the article once more.

Hi Frank,

thank you again, but I received it the last time already. I replied to you immediately but obviously you didn't get my answer.

Or have you mixed up all the Mikes in this thread? :confused:

Thanks for your support anyway!

Mike

Hi folks,

I know, progress is very slow. But finally I have finished my servo powered main gear retract. Works great and very smooth.

No force on the servo in gear down position. All energy from landing is led to the frame, nothing to the servo gear.

Hi Mike,

The landing gear is excellent. That is where I was on my Herc when I passed the project on to another builder. I think it is one of the best parts of the entire build. It makes me want to do another.

Keep up the great work and keep posting.

Hi all. A few weeks ago I started on my palmer 133" C-130. I can't seem to understand a portion of the loading ramp related to the linkage of Arm A. The first picture shows the actual aircraft ramp down. The side of the ramp where the linkage connects is flat. The second picture shows the plans which suggest the connection is made in the curved portion of fuselage sheeting which doesn't make sense because this area of the sheeting will be glued to the formers on the side of the aircraft and does not move. The third pic shows the former the bracket is glued to connecting the ramp to its linkage but it does not reveal where this former is place. The 4th pic shows the former or sides of the ramp and above it in squiggly lines is the curved former where the bracket is glued to, but again does not show where or how this is applied to the ramp. There is nothing like this piece in my kit, which is no surprise coming from kitcutters. Iv'e had to modify a number of items to get them to fit right and other pieces seem to missing as well. I'm hoping someone on here who has built the ramp knows where this curved piece goes. I assume I need to make two of them.

My brother & I are each looking for a set of Century Jet retracts for the Palmer 1/12th scale (132" WS) C-130. Looks like CJM (the recommended source) is for sale due to the retirement of the owner. Does anyone have a set (or 2 ???) for sale ???
