But from what I've heard/read the pilots who actually flew them loved them.

TLH101, actually it's 2 up and 1 down. The plane in Tennessee is the same one that I reported on. Actually the poster is in Tennessee and is selling the retracts for the owner of the plane who lives elsewhere.

it is a Blohm and Voss 141 short range recon that has a fuse off center of the wing and a pod off center the other way that has the pilot and recon guys. the horizontal stab is off center the fuse to the oposite site of the wing center line.

Zoroli did a 40 size and the plans I have are M.A.N. (I think).

My intent is to enlarge the bird by 50% to make it about 82".

Pictures don't match? there were three versions of the BV-141, but the first wasn't known as a BV-141.

The second did not have the assymetric stab, then with the more powerful engine in the third the airframe was enlarged, and the stab off set.

First: Ha-141 Stepped cockpit, pic attached.
Second: BV-141 Faired cockpit, centered stab.
Third: BV-141 B-02 Faired cockpit, offset stab.

There is a flight report on the kmp P-38 in the ARF forum, the guy even did aerobatics with it...unreal!

I'm  new on here... who sells a kit or an arf that will take two 4 stroke saito 56's to 72's? I don't care about it being precisely scale, I'm a sport flyer and have always wanted a twin... of course I can't think of a twin cooler than a p-38...</p>

The VQ models P38 is a great model - the least toy-like of the common ARFs I run a pair of OS .70 four strokes in mine

I don't believe the VQ ARF is still being produced. I tried to buy one five months ago, but was told that the kit is out of production. I even contacted the supplyer in Viet Nam, and was told the same story. The first issues of the KMP P-38 had some flight issues, not serious, but needed lots of elevator input to solve the problem. VQ's P-38 flew off the board better, but was more expensive. You can still find the Nitro Planes P-38 in Asian hobby shops if you shop around, for a price delivered for under $500.00 today. The N.P. P-38 is larger at 90" and no where near the scale outline of either VQ or KMP's P-38, and flying weight at nearly 18 ~ 20#. The N.P. P-38 is fixed gear, has flaps only on the out board wings and is built up with the engine nacells and stab glued together. The wings come appart at the center and the pilot pod is removable (there is a long forum in RCU on building a three piece wing for the N.P. P-38). There have never been a lot of P-38's on the market, for they are a complex build and have a nasty single engine performance issue.

Tower hobbies sold a profile, you build kit, a few years ago that flew very well, but no longer sold. You may be able to find a kit forsale on other web sights, or E-bay.
