Other than the brake pad, I would also recommend to dial in some negative setting in the steering exponential (if your radio can do it) so it gives it some more sensitivity / modulation on the steering..

I set my radio up for negative exponential for the first time today and found the steering to be better. I thought it was a good idea to share with others who own the Blizzard. Posted it here and was deleted. If there's any violation of the forum rule, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

3 of my latest posts were deleted. One was a neat video I saw from another website. The other one was a pic of my Blizzard with 5,000mAh LiPo mounted. And then the 3rd one was w/ the pic w/ the negative exponential dialed in.
Maybe there was a glitch on the system, I am not sure. I just thought they were removed by the mods.
I mean, I respect their decision, but just want to see if posting those were violating any rule, then I won't do it again, that's all...

I will re-post those pics when I get home tonight..
But yeah, I ran my Blizzard last yesterday and it was a lot of fun.. With the LiPo, it was pretty quick too!!
Just need to wait until the winter!!

ive allways lived around the beach and with years of rc ive come to one conclusion, Sand destroys the hell out of bearings and all drivetrain parts. dont mind walking through it to get out to a good wave, wont run ANY of my rc cars in it, maby one deticated one. other than that, just sands your drivetrain away.
bad stuff.
bad stuff.

Because before, even w/ the fluid filled diff, it is still pretty ultra sensitive.. the range of "engagement" is small.. so by doing a negative exponential, I basically alter the curve of the steering input vs. servo output.
So now the steering wheel needs to move more in order to move the servo a little when it is near center, and then pick up when the steering input is far from the center.. so you got more range of steps, if you will, near the center, to modulate the steering..
Here's what the curve looks like... as you can see, the x-axis is the input, the y-axis is the servo movement.

Yeah, sand is not good!! [:@]
I am thinking about using those kitchen / bathroom caulking to seal the lower chassis.. what do you guys think?! Maybe that would prevent the fine sand from getting in? (not that I plan to run mine on the beach.. but just wondering..)

Clear silicone would be my choice, but it's the wheel bearings, etc that will get trashed. Not alot to hurt inside the hull.

Hmm.. okay.. maybe no point of doing it..
All my bearings are plastic shield ones.. so they prevent stuff from getting in better (vs. the metal shield ones) but with slightly more drag..
I ran my Blizzard again yesterday! Just indoor, on the carpet.. still a lot of fun! Need to make a video of the indoor run!

when I ran on the sand the fine sand above the high water line the sand got into the brakes and locked them up so I took them out and turned them round so that they were running metal to metal and not metal to gasket pad. the coarser sand below the high water line did not affect the brakes at all I just had to wash it under the cold tap to get the salt off the blizzard and its running gear.

I'm not looking forward to winter and snow yet either. But then I can play with the blizzard again.

It's like someone threw the switch here. Cold at night and cool days already. Hell , it's still August. Hoping for a nice fall. We sure didn't have a spring or summer here.

I wish we got snow in the UK like you guys in north America and Canada, but there again the Gulf stream keeps the UK winters milder than the north American ones

I know what you mean about the cold, because I work in a cold store at -26 Celsius, you don't take off your gloves for long when writing stuff down when you check the stock levels in the ware house. I would love to run the blizzard in powdery snow like you guys get over there

Hi, guys I always have this troubles since I got my kyosho blizzard so now I want to try to fix this before this winter ... take a look on this video sometime the track slips fine and other times it slips only from one side so like it got only traction from one side ...
