Default Model Tech Magic Extra 300...

A really nice ARF! I have been very pleased with the flying capabilities and workmanship of this reasonably inexpensive mild 3D/Beginner-Pattern airplane.

With an OS .46FX and an 11 x 6 APC it tracks very well and has plenty of zip; ground handling is superb, and slows to walking speed for three-point landings.

Quick corkscrews on aileron rolls and spins, but a little sluggish on snap rolls; good hovering, but be prepared to correct for torque rolling with opposite aileron.

This is my first Model Tech, and I hope their other ARF's are as nice for the price...Dale

You might want to try an APC 13x4 prop for more hanging experience.....

I also have a Magic Extra 300 and I agree it is a fun plane to fly. I like the slow three point landings. No matter what you do in the air, if you screw up the landing, it ruins the picture. I am an ex-pattern flier and this is the most relaxing plane I have flown. I have tried hovering a couple of times, but don't seem to have the touch.

I have one. I love it. Very impressive knife edge. Does everything very well. Looks cool too.

13-4 on a 46FX? That's a little too much prop IMO.

I agree. 12x4 apc is perfect for hovering and unlimited vertical with the 46FX.

Try an APC 11 1/2 x 4. Faster spool up and great thrust.

Yep, also a good choice for the 46FX.

I have an Irvine .53 on mine and it loves a 12.25x3.75. It jumps off the ground on command!

I like this ARF for $99 but the covering is slowly coming off all over the place. In a desperate measure, I took 5 minute epoxy and thinned it with alcohol, and painted over all the seams with it. I don't want my covering coming off in the air. We'll see if this works. It's pretty invisible and pretty light thinned with alcohol.

I use a TT .46 Pro with APC 12.25 X 3.75 on Omega 10%. Hovers at half throttle and pulls away with ease. I've tried many props. Nothing comes close to the APC.

Ed
