Painting HL silver metal tracks
Hello,
I have a question. What kind of paint do you use to paint the silver metal tracks and drive sprockets on HL tanks? Also what about a product called Blacken-it?
thank you.

I have used that pruduct and the results were good but not as good as painting them, IMO. I simply spray a quick coat of primer and then hit the tracks with a gun metal color and then spray them with flat black and finallymist a light coat of brown . Make sure you spray light coats and allow time to dry in between each.

I hard about a guy using "Kurust" or smilar, that stuff you get from car accesory shops, it apparently turns the alloy lack whn it dries but goes on just like milk, unfortunately i havent seen any photos tho.
EDIT I tried using Kurust today on a smal bit of track and it didnt even change colour, so dont know where that idea came from.

Krust is a weak phosphoric acid solution and only works on ferrous metals-it turns the rust oxide into an inhert black sustance and supposedly stabilizesthesurroundingsteel-as the tracks are alloy it wouldn't work.
