Default 28% Edge engine range

I recenlty got a great deal from a club member on a WH Edge and want to know if I should install a NIB US 41 engine in it "AS-IS" or will I need more HP? Any thoughts about reworking the carb, etc. ? I was intending to stick the 41 in a much heavier TF P-51 GS kit I'm building but at the rate I'm going it'll be a r-US-t 41. THanks in advance

While it might fly it around in a circle, I think you wont be happy. stick with 50CC class, DA ZDZ Brisson ect....or Even the mvvs 58. Mine has the DA-50 and vertical is ballistic.

Mikel-T ,
The US41 would be the weakest engine ever installed in this plane.
If your wanting to enjoy the performance the plane was designed for, you
should get a engine in the 1 to 1.5 HP/Lbs area.
Any light 50cc to 62cc engine will do the job well.
The plus of getting a 50cc over the 62cc is that many more planes are being
designed for this size engine now.
Most popular engines for the 28% Wild Hares;

1. DA 50
2. ZDZ 50
3. Brison 3.2
4. BME 50
5. FPE 3.2
6. Taurus 52
7. MVVS 58 (evo 58)
8. 3W 50
9. Zenoa G-62

At only 3HP & 4.5 lbs. the US 41 will be a big disappointment.
Hope this helps,

The lighter the engine, in the 50cc class that is, the better the performance. Even if you have to temper the weight by the price a heavier engine will still provide excellent performance.

I've seen the plane work with a Brison 3.2, a DA 50, a BME 50, and a G-62. None of the engines were a dissapointment, so go with what you can squeeze by the wife of significant other.
