The cleanest way is to have them pre-made, my friend makes them for 25 bucks a set, but he won't be back from vacation for 10 days or so.
I personally used a 1/4 ply spacer as reccomended by Tom on my first Wild Hare, and it sincerley worked fine.
On my replacement I used the pre-made, and love them, as well.

im running an edge 540t with da 50 and 3 inch standoffs

I used the 2.50" standoffs and cut four 3/4" spacers and used longer
bolts. You can cut 1" x 1" squares from 3/4" plywood as spacers.

The standoff's DA sent me were only 2.50.... I figure I will just order some 3.25" and be done with it.
