Default Interferance problem????

Hi guys,i posted last week about a bad landing i had on a windy day, anyway it tore the landing gear out of my edge, and cracked the spark plug and metal shield on the da-50 plug wire boot.Since fixing this, and flying i have started to get interferance.I only get hit from long distances and only when the plane is running. My question is,when the spark plug wire boots, metal shield cracked, would this cause interferance??i taped the shield up with electrical tape,i thought by repairing it the best i could this would work.Or is something else causing problems?

it might be that the cap fits the plug too loose and is causeing this.i have found this to be the problem a couple of times.tighten it up where it fits to the base of the plug and see if it helps

To be safe you should send the ignition in to DA and have them replace the plug cap. Usually they can turn things like this around pretty quickly.

The CM-6 plug is not available as a resistor type plug. The issue is that his steel plug cap that is designed to sheild RF has been damaged and is in need of replacement.

You might also want to consider replacing the receiver crystal. A crack in the crystal will also do as you described. A good shocky landing can cause that issue to come up.
