I'll take one and put up a deposit too. I've got a nice BME 50cc just waiting for a fun flyer. Don't care how long it takes to develop - just let us know when you'll accept deposits.
I've all ready bought two WH airplanes and they are great. I'm building a new house on 40 acres, and have already leveled out a runway just outside the shop. What a great airplane to taxi out of the shop and fly in the late afternoons. It's time for a relaxing airplane to fly.

I see that the poll started by Mr Bigg is up to 65 people who would buy it.
TopSan, that is a very impressive plane you have their.

Hi !
Uhm... let me think abt. that... 1" is 2,54cm, i think...
So those 4,00m Wingspan should be 157,5"
The nices thing abt. that plane: Huuuuge wing area of 2,65 m2; the wing loading is only 93g/dm2 (don't aks me abt. uz/sqF, i dont know the factors
Thats also great at all decathlon models, they all have huge wing areas!
Hmmm... i should go to the poll and also vote for it; i really would like to have a smaller decathlon around 50cc for myself, too!
BTW: My big one fits perfectly in my Ford C-Max (Minivan, but more mini than van
), even togehter with my 5m - Soarer, so no problems with transports
Best regards from Leipzig de Frank

Hi Brian!
Remeber: the super Decathlon is 'bit bigger in original; 33% would be 3,3m wingspan. Maybe a bit to much for a 50cc?
I would say: 2,5m Wingspan or around that max. Sure, no problem to build a floter in 3,3m - but the Super Decathlon does Aerobatics in Origninal so also the model has to be stable built ;-)

I'm in. I have been wanting something like this for a while. Must be a true 50cc plane, probably 33%?

there is not really a market for one
there is not really a market for one
... or is it that different in the US?
We have abt. 30 different decathlons on the Market; mostly smaller ons for Electric and glow. than there is a big, black hole until abt. 3m Wood builders kit and the last one is the big 4m - Fliegerland - Decathlon that i own.
So even if we have a lot of Decathlons here (BTW: Is the US market that different that noone wants one? can't belive that ;-) ), a well built 50CC ARF would exactly fill in that big hole in the middle. [sm=idea.gif]
So: I take one, too! [sm=thumbup.gif]

topsan, great clip looks like a great flier.
tom, decathlons don't have flaps so if you are going to offer one flaps should be optional if offered at all. it did look sweet with full flaps on final though...

(they are 90cm X 14cm on each side, so 35,4" X 5,5")What happens when i try full flaps in the air, you can see here: http://www.fliegerlandshop.de/downloads/decathlon02.wmv
Have a look at position 3:20 Mins in that video and watch the clouds to get an idea of the breaking

That was my 2nd flight on the plane; Fliegerland has it on his site because mine was in the air before his frst one, hehehe
Abt. flaps in general on a Super Decathlon: yes, the original does not have flaps - but in the model, you will love them. Not only because of the final approach but also when you are towing gliders. you can easily andjust your towing speed with them so that you can also pull "oldtimers" up there without getting to "sportive" for their stucture

I think with 50cc on a 2,5m Super Decathlon, you can pull gliders to around 5 - 7 kg up - and do a lot of fun stuff whlie heading back to ground before hooking up the next glider

Best regards de Frank

I soloed in a full-scale Citabria. It was green starburst (please, don't do it in green!)
I'll cut you a deposit check tonight for a 50cc Decathlon/Citabria. (I gave up glow...gotta be big and gasoline.)
Robert.
