Default Vess Props

I'm interessted in the new design Vess Props, has anyone tried them?
if so, what is the performance. Currently flying a WH Edge w/ Brison 3.2
on a CF 22x8 with great performance, maybe this Voss is better- who knows?

You can go out an experiment with the Vess, or you can take this to the bank. The Edge with a Brison 3.2 will knock your socks off with an MSC 22-8. No, it won't spin a trillion rpm, but that's NOT what determines the ability of the prop to perform. Far too many people have seen mine fly that will never argue the rpm point again. I've run about all of them, and come back to the MSC for the best performance in the group.

The Vess props are also good if you get the right size, 22a I believe. Be careful with the tuning on your engine after you change to one. They put a lot of extra load on an engine and create more heat. Ask RTK about that one[X(]

Hi there Silver Surfer, and thanks for the reply. Yes, we, I say my Son who is the pilot, now stationed in VA. in the AF, flew the MSC 22x8 for quite some time with great performance, now he put on a CF PT 23x8 and it seems it has even more pull, ( with about 600 more RPM). I think he is just experimenting to get the Best performance out of the Edge.
BTW: as for as I know, he still does Harriers, Waterfalls, Blenders, Torque Rolls etc. with a common 6 Ch. Radio ( the New one from Futaba)., NOT the fancy computerized Versions. How about that for Skill??

No reason that a person can't. The only mix I use on my stuff is a rudder/elevator mix for knife edge. Everything else is done with only dual rates or expo. One of the old Futaba 6XAs would do most of what a person wants just fine.

I've played around with most of the carbon props and just about all of the wood ones. Many of them spin up better than the MSC but I just haven't found one yet that actually outperforms it in all areas. I might get a little more pull, but worse braking. More speed, but less pull. Marginally the same pull but less positive at harrier speeds. Good speed and braking but slow (weak) coming out of a hover even with higher rpm. It was and is the balance that always brings me back. Do try the Vess and let us know how you like it compared to the PT

buchtes
in the coming weeks i will be testing the vess props on a Brison 3.2, i have both a 22a and 23a. I also have a header and carbon fiber pipe that will be testing on a stand. Once i get all the stand info worked out i will mount the motor on a Extreme Flight Yak for testing of the actual bird in the air.

What kind of muffler r u running on the 3.2?

Wrap around Bisson Pitts. A J&A warp around has identical performance to the Bisson.

Siver Surfer: Sound like you're one of the old " Stick and Rudder Guys" which we all have
learned to respect, they flew great before Computers came in. Hat's off.

Well, you got the old part right I'm usually too busy flyin' to remember what button, switch, or slider I need to hit next to do this or that. If a switch has more than two positions I can get in trouble. Prolly open someone's garage door or something...

Brison 3.2 is a single bolt so I think your BME will work.
I am not sure of the center hole.

Standard 10mm center hole fits perfect. Props for Brison engines always came pre-drilled

Krazy you back flying a lot again? I found I had more time to fly in the military than I do as a civy
