Default big bunny bites the dust

i had a engine die in a hover sunday and put my 41% extra in the dirt. damage is not to bad and i should have it back in the air next week. i think it was a throttle servo failure but still doing some testing. the new landing gear should be here friday so maybe i can finish the repair this week end. this was a sweet flying plane and i can't let it lay around busted for long.

that was at a fly-in at Kennett Mo last sunday, and there was a bunch of good people there. that is one of the things that i love about this hobby(sicknes), the people. i go to several fly-ins every year and have met a bunch of great people everywhere i go. i think rc airplane nuts are the same all over and they have a common bond, they also love to help each other and support each other how ever they can.

Can you do a "how to" on how you repair the landing gear? I'm sure others have better ideas than me, and it's only a matter of time.

i haven't worked out a game plan for the gear plate yet but it shouldn;t be to bad. my new gear should have been here today but didn't show so maybe next week. the damage overall was notvery bad and i should have it fixed in a few days. it take me longer to do 10 hours of crash repair than it takes me to do a complete arf build, i get so pi$$ed at myself for having to fix it i need to walk away.

I think repaired planes are more fun. Once you get that perfect newness behind you they are easier to fly.

looks like my landing gear repair didn't do very well. haha! the landing was a little less than perfect but the block i installed to hold the landing gear gave way. it won't be very hard to fix as soon as i get some time. i am still have a problem with the engine and i'm not sure what it is. it sounds like i have something loose causing a miss in the ignition when i roll the plane over but i have not found it yet.

If its only doing it when you roll over it could be:

1. Clunk in fuel tank; might be binding or not drawing fuel correctly
2. Some type of air build up in the cowl causing un even pressure

Check your:
1. Ignition battery
2. Ignition switch
3. Spark plugs

Would not hurt to try a spare ignition if you have one.

thanks airbourneSGT, the problem is getting worse and nothing has changed on the air intake area. it sounds like the ignition is cutting out but only when the plane is rolling quickly or in a high g manuver. this makes me think i have a bad wire connection some where in the ignition system. i have cleaned the carb, checked and changed plugs, tried new gas, inspected all wires to ignition. the first several flights after the repair went good but after a few i would hear a hicup every now and then but now it's getting bad but the engine never dies just cuts out.[]

Cut that dang red and black connector off the ignition, throw it in the trash, solder big deans on it and go fly.

sorry i didn't report but i found the problem a few weeks ago. the first time the engine died it was due to the throttle servo bracket i built and installed (no fault of wild hare) came loose and killed the engine. that crash damaged a JR plug going to the ignition kill switch that was causing the engine to cut out as connection came and went. i have several flights on her now with no problem at all so maybe i can get back to flying it without thinking it 's going to die on me at the worst time again.
cap10b, i allway replace the DA plug with a deans or i hard solder it but thanks for the heads up.
