New 260 Build
Well it was picked up this Saturday from the master himself Tony's shop. I am always amazed at the work that he does. He and Aerotech share the same shop now. If you cant tell, this is the WH 260. This one is totally custom and I dont think there is another one out there nicer.
A really nice detail is that Tony glassed and painted the hatch. In person the entire plane itself looks painted.
I am leaning towards the DA 85 with a single can. I will also being going 2.4 on this one. I am not in a huge rush to finish this one off and I have to admit this is the first time in a while I have had a nice looking plane I am only slightly afraid to have fun with.

A WH? Sure thats not a Dalton? I mean you are talking about Tony from Dalton and John from Aerotech.
Note: The inside is first sprayed with a cheap grey primer. You then use fleckstone paint (Walmart carries it). Adds about 2oz to your plane but is worth it in looks. Spray the fleckstone sparingly.

RE: New 260 Build
Yeah I am 100% sure its a Wild Hare! Its a 260 from Tom that from some strange reason I decided I needed to be re-covered.
Here is how you can tell 100% its a WildHare:
1. It was purchased from WH
2. The way the stabs mount to the fuse and the position of the elevator servos
3. The landing gear are curved (Dalton's are straight)
4. Firewall and motor box
5. Behind the canopy there is the tray used to mount batteries.
For those who dont know Tony (Dalton Aviation) is the one who told me to go with the larger (33%) planes in the first place when I was making the jump from smaller planes. He also built my first WH 260 that I crashed on account of low batteries
Yes for those who have the patience and the $$ you too can have a pimped out plane.

holy wow!
now that has to be the BADDEST WH plane I have ever seen. I love WH but this dressed up doll looks like the ones that cost 2x the price! Love the clean smart scheme. presents the lines very nicely and looks like it will lend itself to custom gfx nicely.
good job man!

RE: New 260 Build
I'm green with envy!! Just last night I lost mine due to a failed transmitter battery. One of my all time favorite planes. I hope Tom does another run of 'em in the spring 'cause while I like his new planes, I think the foam core wing planes just fly better & the few oz. difference in weight don't matter to me none.
Yer plane looks great!

Well it may have to wait a little while to be finished Work may take me out of town a month or so. On a positive note I think it will bring me not too far from Wild Hare. A visit may be in order.

RE: New 260 Build
Ok so some news:
1. I had gone back and forth on power sources. Yes this plane rocks but I want to keep it light and not dump a lot of money into it. I would rather put that towards 40% projects
I found a NIB 3W75 local with a composite 26x10 prop, mounting plate, muffler, drill guide, ignition for $500
I am also looking at a cannister setup online for sale for like $100.
So $600 into the motor and exhaust.
2. Going with A123 cells on this plane.
3. Might just do a single servo per wing - not sure
Unless I get a builder lined up it will probably not be finished until I get back from out of town. So if its before X mas I will be lucky.
