Default Baby Extra on electric

Tom,
I finished the plane a few weeks ago but am just now getting around to uploading the pictures. It flies great and has plenty of power. Right now I am getting about 8 min flights with the batteries not even getting to warm. I am making about 1600 watts at a 50 amp draw. The auw is 10.5 lbs.
Here is a list of equipment:

Hyperion 4035B-14 motor
Castle Creations 85HV ESC
2x 4s 5000mah batteries
1x 2s 2200 lipo for the receiver with Castle Creations bec
4x JR DS821 servos
1x JR 8611A servo for the rudder
1x JR 790 receiver

Thank you for an excellent looking plane that flies great!!!

Ken

I was looking for some replacement wheel pants for the Baby Extra. Any thoughts of fiberglass or carbon fiber would be appreciated.

well my adventure into electrifying a "larger plane" has begun
the new version baby edge is on the way
is this considered ver 2 ver 3 or the 2010 version?

will be a 2 month process though. xmas is coming and family and presents and rent will trump outfitting the plane this upcoming month. atleast the airframe is coming

what i think im going to use

hyperion zs 4045-10 292 kv
esc. T.B.D. ice series vs scorp hv vs castle hv series vs ???. all pending at time of order if i want expansion capability vs in stock
servos 4x hs 5485 (have them here from my speed wing projects) 1xhs5645 (have that here from prior plane)
variants of 8s. i have g3 4000 from my speed wing projects to complete an 8s set up. will start with those and adjust sizes based on flight times
a123 for servo power (have those here from other projects as well)
graphtec tail wheel set up
titanium turnbuckles

will also be working on a larger charger. have a little cellpro 4s and a C.E. GFX lipo converted. they wont cut the mustard for this project. thinking of the xtrema

thinking of doing a vinyl package to make it look like my little velox. along with some custom edge and airtronics stickers from b&e
but will wait and see how it all looks built before i decide to give it a "custom face look"
pic of my velox for what the scheme im thinking of. just in a white base

I purchased a Cellpro 10s from FMA Direct after ordering the batteries for this plane and swear that I will never buy another charger. This charger is the best I have ever used. If you like your 4s then look into the 10s.
I have the Hyperion Z4045-12 on the bench for my next big project. It is the Hanger 9 P-51 1.50. I will be using the same batteries that are in my Extra with a Castle Creations ICE 75.

ended up getting the xtrema bundle. couldnt refuse the price and a decent power capable wattmeter. the independant balancers dont bother me since ive used them on my gfx. it dont do nimh nicad but i have other chargers that can cover that
ill share what i end up getting installed. i might go knock off on some brands for some of the gear, not sure yet
2 electric projects and a possible 3rd in the works. lol wish i could get multiple jobs and get it all done at once

Do you have any replacement wheel pants for the 25% Edge or Extra?
