I didn't go back beyond this page, and if it was already noted on this one I missed it. Is that one of the Bisson fiberglass spinners?

RE: 41% Eye Candy

Maybe, I mean I didn't get it from them but I have had one of theirs in the past. This one is from an electric rc plane web site that sells fiberglass and carbon fiber spinners at great prices and they are very good quality with lightened backplates, here is the link but you have to look under a engine assories for the spinners. RE: 41% Eye Candy

Absolutely the ame spinners as the Bisson units at about 1/2 the cost at Esprit. Same goes or the carbon fiber models. I forgot to note where they are shipping from but with Bisson you have a lifetime monetary and time investment in the Canadian Postal Service. Thanks for the information, you just saved me a whole bunch of money in the future!!:D

Pat

Went back and checked the location. Florida just made it even better.

Located in good old Florida. I already have an aluminum spinner or I would go with that one.

RE: 41% Eye Candy

I sat and thought about it for about 2 minutes and went back to the site to order two of the 5" glass spinners before everyone else did. I would have got the carbon in the same size but they were out.

Thanks again:D

If she was a boat her displacement would be unreal, won't be long.

Looking real good. Can't wait for you to fly it. FYI I swapped out the supplied tail wheel assembly with a titanium unit from RC Blimp to both save weight and increase strength.

Fixed Wing,
Did you have to cut holes in the fuse for the elevator stab servo wiring?

Fixed Wing,
Did you have to cut holes in the fuse for the elevator stab servo wiring?
Yes, I cut a hole on each side just large enough for the female lead of the extension to poke through. I transport my planes with the stabs removed so the elevator connections get plugged in and unplugged frequently. I use a connector clip to keep the connections together when the stabs are on and tuck the excess servo wire inside the stab.

Congratulations. What test did you take?

RE: 41% Eye Candy

General Contractor :) Two days, 9 hours per day, and three parts later. First day is Business and Finance. Next day is Contract Administration and Project management.

How often will I actually use a lot of things I was tested on in the field...probably not often. The test really focused on the Florida state building code, Concrete, Commercial construction, OSHA, AIA documents, and of course accounting. The math was really not that hard so much as just long. For example they give you a set of plans with like 15 sheets and you would have to calculate the amount of concrete or weight of steel.

Just glad to get that out of the way so I can start my own construction company fully licensed for unlimited construction in Florida.
The next goal will be to get my NC license which requires $150k in liquid assets. I dont know how they expect guys working in the field who actually have the building knowledge to just come up with that money.

I will get my 41% Bunny going soon. I can finish it in a couple days as there is like no building to it. I swear the thing will go together faster than my Comp ARF.

I didn't know Pax River has a mafia!

Hey bass, what's the new job at Pax? Here is a link to the local club http://www.paxaero.com/ipb/index.php

The big Extra is very tempting, I just can't bring myself to buy a larger car or a trailer to haul it!

rctom 08-19-2006 11:09 PM

RE: 41% Eye Candy

Hey, guess what. My test pilot David McCutchen showed up at the field last night with no trailer, just driving his Toyota highlander SUV.

Now keep in mind this is a smallish SUV about the size of a Ford Explorer or possible smaller.

He opened the back door to reveal his 41% Extra inside. He had to remove the stabs and rudder, then put it in from the rear. The end of the fuse was almost touching the radio, and the spinner just cleared the back door, but it all fit including the wings, stabs, rudder and his tools.

So I don't want to hear from anyone anymore that "it won't fit into my car". It just takes a little ingenuity and determination.

OK, I showed up at the field today with my trailer holding two 40%'s and a 35%. One of them was the WH 41% Extra. Oh, did it fly so straight and 3D so fine. The harriers and hovering were very stable. I like this plane so much!!! Nough said...:D

RE: 41% Eye Candy

Tom,
How hard is it to remove the rudder? How much time to re-assemble and re-rig the controls? Next time you have an assembled 41% fuse handy, can you measure from the prop washer to the rudder hinge line?

airborneSGT 08-20-2006 04:57 PM

RE: 41% Eye Candy

If a Carden Cap will fit in my little RX 300 then I know this plane will fit no problems. The rudder might need to be taken off but thats it :) The rudder comes off easy. Once the Seiko servo comes in I can show you my ideas and setup to make it easily taken on or off.

Tom,

How hard is it to remove the rudder?
There is a CF tube that goes into the hinge line from the bottom. You need to move the tailwheel out of the way is the main problem.

One idea I had is to use a flat CF type tailwheel bracket then drill a small hole in it to allow the tube to pass through. A piece of tape over the hole would keep the tube in place, or a small screw or something to plug the hole.

If you used Rocket City 69D snap type connectors on the rudder you could remove/install the rudder in about a minute.

Bass,
That donkey Jeff can give you all the gouge on Pax, both the area and the club. Jeff should have his 41% ready anytime, then he needs to bring that thing up for a show-and -tell and to pass me the transmitter...

Jecarte 08-21-2006 07:59 AM

RE: 41% Eye Candy

Ernie,
I would pass you my transmitter anytime, sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days, but I've been under the weather. No building or flying, yea I was sick. Bass is a good stick but you guys will have to teach him how to land on grass. He is spoiled on our pavement. :D

Ernie you better order that plane all you excuses have been answered in this form. I can't explain how sweet she is. I should have it up in a couple of weeks and Bass is going to film it.

Jecarte,

We need to get together. Some formation and freestyle flying with two of the 41% in one video would kick butt. Mine will be ready in the same time also.
