Default SF120 performance

Hello Dave, quick question. I have a SF120, sweetest running engine in my fleet. I did have it in a plane that weighed 8 1/2 lbs. Was swinging a 16X8 at 9200. Gave me unlimited performance on the plane. It's been idle for a year and now I want to put it in a plane that weighs in about 9 3/4 lbs. Is the 9 3/4 lb plane too much for this engine swinging the same size prop?
Thanks,
Dhammer

Depends on what type and how much wing loading. A Cub at that weight vs. a pattern airplane at that weight will be two totally different animals.

Good point. Fun fly 3D type with a wing loading right about 16OZ per Sq Ft.

I'd say it will work fine. You may have to go with a larger diameter, lower pitched prop. Be ready to experiment.
