Default YS 63FZ Problem

I picked up a used YS 63FZ, and put it on my test stand today. After putting fuel in the tank, and turning it over several times by hand to pressurize the tank, I moved the throttle to an idle setting, hooked up the glow igniter, and by the time I went to spin the prop with my starter, fuel was running out of the carb. This is only my second YS engine (the other is a 91FZ), but I'm thinking it's a regulator problem. I released the tank pressure, poured the fuel out of the carb, and trying starting it, but raw fuel was spraying out of the exhaust.

Any suggestions?

Mike

Sounds like the regulator is not closing....either debris, trash, or a damaged part is keeping the regulator from closing.

Troy,

Do you recommend taking the regulator apart and flushing? What's best to flush it with?...is Isopropyl alcohol ok?

flush it with clean filtered RAW fuel. That is what I use.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
