Arobatx...man its OK. You can post this is a forum to help guys out. We all have our opinions. I don't mind a bit with sharing info. Plus it makes it easier on me answering all the time.
Hughes500E,
Yes I think the Hyde mounts are good for your airframe. I use them. I don't like the mounts that don't use a nose ring. the reason is the engine thrust line can change. If the mount is so still that it can't change thrust line then I doubt its doing much besides adding weight to your model. Besides i have seen all the Type A mounts that don't need a nose ring. my opinion is they are better with a nose ring. The nose ring holds that thrust line in place.
Now not all models can accommodate that. I have a Showtime with the new 110S in it. I'm not running a Hydemount or a nose ring...Just the stock plastic beams that come in the kit. Yes I'm abusing the airframe. If it was a competition model that would change and I would put a AR type mount in it with a nose ring. I would have to build something to support the nose...but it would be worth it. As it is now the model is a 3D machine and my fun airplane. Its beater although it flies well and its in great shape its not like my expensive competition models.
So the choice is up to you. I recommend the Hyde mounts they are outstanding. I have been using them for a really long time. My first one was in about 1994. Depends on what the model is worth to you. The Hyde will help save it from vibration. Even the type A with no need for a nose ring is better than hard mounted.
I just look at the $250 Arf as I want it as light as possible and to make it a 3D monster not worry about it living 1000 flights.

Hey Troy we both have a Showtime with a YS 1.10 in it. I couldn't make myself mount the motor on the plastic beam mount, and neither the hyde mount or the dave brown ( the old dave von linsowe) rail mount would work easily with this airplane and still use the pretty cowling that came with the showtime. So I am using the Dubro mount for .91 4 stroke engines. Here is the link to the dubro 1.20 mount which is the same, only a little bigger. the one for the 1.10 doesn't offer a picture, but it is listed. They also have a nifty throttle linkage that works very well with this mount. http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro...161.5190.0.0.0 . Anyone doing the 1.10 with the showtime, this isn't the best iso mount for vibration, but it's definitely an improvement from the plastic rigid mount that comes with the airplane. Have a fun week Troy. VT

I have seen them and they work well.
I went cheap and easy it was already setup for the supplied beams and they have been fine so far.
