Default 4 in 1 Question

Ive read on another forum of some CX-2 owners taking the 4 in 1 out of the plastic case and re-mounting just the board in the same position as a way to get rid of even more heat. My question is, how do you re-mount the darn thing without that plastic case? Just stick the board to that double-sided tape and hope for the best? I already have holes in the plastic case for ventilation and would this procedure be any better? Has anyone here done that to their 4 in 1? If so, could give me an idea on how to keep the darn thing in place?!! Any ideas, suggestions, or comments would be appreicated!

I informed my wife what that I'd like to try this thing with the 4 in 1 and I got the usual comment....'Just leave the damn thing alone before you screw it up!!' Heck, leaving it alone 'ain't' NO fun at all!!!

Default RE: 4 in 1 Question

I'd go with the wife on this one and I usually don't agree with mine just for the record I have the reg CP and owned and flown it regularly for well over a year. I am now running the Slo-max motor which should draw a few more amps the stock and also a direct drive tail motor by GWS. I've never had any problems with over heating on the 4-in-1 side. My 2 cents would be to leave it as is.

Good luck and God Bless!

Check out this thread. Great group of knowledgeable guys that fly the Blade and other helis[8D]

Yeah....leave it alone, she's right.

I've had one to 8 months and the only thing that
gets hot enough to worry about is the motors.

Park it under a fan for 5 minutes and you're good
to go.

Just my .02

Has my wife paid you two off?LOL!!! Seriously, I think I'll leave well enough alone. I do have a heatsink on the motors and a hole in the canopy and that should suffice. I'm just new to this hobby and I guess I just want to 'improve' things, but I don't want to screw thing up in the process either!! That's why whenever I hear of something that 'sounds' plauisble I bring it here and get an experienced opinion. Thanks alot for the advice, it is much appreicated.

Now I have to go tell my wife that I plan on leaving it alone and hear those dreaded words....'See, I told you so!!' Man, I hate it when she's right!![&o]

Hi guys, im band new to this hobby and recently picked up a cx2. Already I have a problem and need any advice that can be given.
The problem is during flight the green light on my 4 in 1 turns red at mid to full throtle and i loose altitude.

Does anyone know why its doing this or how it can be fixed? this happens with fully charged batteries approx 2 mins into flight.

Thanks for your help.

Hi!! And welcome to the forums. I too am new to helis and if I make make a suggestion to help you get the answers to your questions. It would be best if you started your own thread simply because not too many people will read this one anymore since it's older. With your own thread, you will have a much better chance of getting your problem solved. That's just alittle bit of freindly advice to help you get the help you need. Unfortunatly, I can't answer that question, because I haven't had that problem....yet, but with all the good people around here, I'm sure there is an answer out there!!(playing theme from the X-Files as I type!!) Good luck, and again welcome to this mad house!!!!

Ok, I will show you, but do this at your own risk!!!!!

I started typing a thread on heat and the CX2, but I didn't finish it yet. I will try to get it done.

I myself have only been dealing with fully clothed 4 in 1's and never have had a overheating issue of any kind...........OMG!

Am I a Virgin??

Thanks Balance for the pics!! However, I have to agree with ArrowNaughtic that you have really 'crossed the line' this time. I mean, there are 12 and 13 year olds visiting this site daily, not to mention my 7 year old son, and here you are flaunting a naked 4 in 1!! How dare you?? Have you no shame? What would my son think of me if he caught me looking at this 'filth?' Then again, I can't really blame you because, after all I DID start it, but I never thought that the high standards of this forum would permit such vulgarity. Well, of course, I do have a solution: I have printed out those pics of yours and I plan to sit down with my son tonight and try to explain WHY there are naked 4 in 1 pictures posted on this forum!! I can only hope that he'll understand!!LOL

Man, I can't believe I just typed all that stupid stuff!! Anyhow, I am looking forward to your post on cooling, Balance. And again, thank you for the pics. Believe it or not, they ARE appreicated and now I don't have to hunt for a porn site!!

Well actually I never though this to be a problem. Posting a naked 4 in 1. Does ignorance of the law
apply in this case??

Well your right..... I probably never should have posted it because of people (young and old ) doing it and
smashing up their 4 in 1 controllers.

But actually you might find that explaining WHY you thought the posting was out of line that will become the real issue.

And I know both of these threads are on the same page at this time , but here is my

LMAO!!!! That was great Balance! Not only do you know about helios, but you have a great sense of humor too!! A good combination for this forum! Do you know anything about Mercedes-Benz? I restore older Mercedes and I go to the Mercedes Tech Forum for help sometimes and we sure could use some humor over there!! There is nothing wrong with getting serious about your hobby, whether it's helios or Mercedes, but alittle humor doesn't hurt!! Case in point: I went to that 'other' forum to find out how to replace the springs on a Duo-Valve for a '94 S500 Mercedes and I added, what I thought, was a touch of humor to my post and was told that if I can't be serious about my problem I will need to seek assistance elsewhere!! So I did!! There's a ton of Mercedes Tech forums, and none of them are as straight-laced as the one I used to go to.

Now, as for WHY....well.....ah....ah...A long time ago, in a land far, far away where helios flew like a 1000 bumble bees, there was this little boy who was just learning to fly helios and getting rather good at it. But one day a bunch of bullies, who knew that this kid was getting better than them at flying, showed this poor kid a picture of a naked 4 in 1 and tramatized the child for life. That child shall remain unnamed, but have you ever seen the movie 'One Flew Over The Coo Coo's Nest?' Well, in actuality, what flew over that nest was a CX-2....now you know the rest of the story!!

Do you know anything about Mercedes-Benz?

Nope sorry. I did look a my boss's daughters Mercedes when he brought it in to work and
it was having problems. So I have looked under the hood of one. It was I think an older
80's but don't remember now.
I did work at a place that restored old cars years ago. I worked on a '32 ford coupe, '65 corvette,
, '41 caddys, a couple of old Packards etc.
And being technically inclined I could probably figured one (Mercedes-Benz) out. But I wouldn't
be in any hurry if you asked me for help. I really never was a car buff.
But I am usually around people that are. My boss is (He has a
'39 ford convertable and he is working on something else right now, but I don't remember if
it is a Duster or a Charger or something like that),. But I drove R/C cars years
ago , and I also worked on a race car for a few years with some friends that ran at a local track.
(NO not the INDY cars).
I really never got into engines very much.
A vehicle to me is a device to get me from point A to point B.....and yes point B includes the
hobby store. It never mattered to me how fast or how stylish I got/go to my point B, just
making it is all that matters.

I added, what I thought, was a touch of humor to my post and was told that if I can't be serious about my problem I will need to seek assistance elsewhere!!
Maybe if you flew your CX2 into their forum, with big Mercedes stickers on it they would think that was cool.

Oh and BTW I did mention the CX2 in this post, so I guess it isn't too far off topic. [X(]
