rebranger, ahicks and other guys,
I had no idea that I had to run a non-synthetic oil in the first place, never read it anywhere, not even on this threat, if it's there on this thread and I may have overlooked it so sorry about it. I was always told to run a synthetic oil and this is when I found the Klotz and I read that I gotta use 32:1 on it. One gallon 4 oz. I don't think I'm gonna make any change in carb, and in the ring, and I don't think I'd be able to change the ring and get Bowman ring what everybody's talking about. May be I can but I've not even yet flown the plane due to circumstances beyond my control, and I'd hopefully try to go out and fly that thing off of a retention pond which is dry.
I'd continue to run the way it is, as I really take care of my stuff, and I do not abuse it. I'd adhere to the instructions of it and I hope I won't run into any prob with DLE20.
Thanks guys for all your support and now a lot of guys are coming up with new questions which is interesting.

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)
So I'm finally putting the Bowman rings on my DLE 20 and 30 tonight. First thing I notice is the soot buildup on the piston head. Much more on the DLE 20 than the 30 (maybe some more run time, but not that much). I was able to clean the DLE 30 piston head easily, but the soot on the 20 is tougher - can't get it all off, even using steel wool. I did get most of it, and the head feels smooth. Also cleaned out the inside of the cylinder as much as possible, using Acetone on both. Should I be concerned about some soot residue that's remaining on the piston head on the 20? I'm guessing not, but want to hear from the pros. Am looking forward to seeing how the Bowman rings help starting and performance.
Other problem - just lately - last two times to the field - I can't get my DLE 30 started, and I use a Megratron starter. Has never been a problem before (have had this engine about 1 year). I choke it to start (as normal) but now does not fire. Take the choke off - it sputters slightly once in a while, but does not kick in. I take the plug off and it's soaked. But I am getting a healthy spark - so what gives? I just checked the carb pump diaphram and it looked healthy, though I did notice one of the two pin-holes was enlarged, as if the diaphram was slighltly out of alignment (though if this WAS the problem then how was the engine running fine before?). I'm wondering if this could have been the issue. The L and H needles seem fine (L - 1 1/16th turns). Will try to test the engine tomorrow. Any ideas till then?

The Frank Bowman ring has several advantages over the stock ring. It is of a higher quality metal, has much less gap than the stock, and will seat faster. You should gain a higher compression and a little higher top rpm using his rings.

w8ye - thanks - I'll take a look at that. While I'm there I'll also follow Frank Bowman's instructions on how to square and clean the reed blocks.

+1 for Larry! LOL Some of these guys tend to over analyze everything. Treat this thing like an airborne weedeater and go fly for cryin out loud.
I get a chuckle everytime I see something like adding stabilizer to your gas. If you READ the label on your oil, you'll find it's already in there! Even the "on sale" Wally Mart oil has it.... (which probably is the same oil as Stihl Ultra without the Stihl price)
I'm goin flying, bye.

IndioMike, RiverLarry,
Thank you very much for the information. I'm very much looking forward to flying this weekend since winds would be mellowed down. Since I started off with the synthetic oil, I'm sure it won't hurt it until the ring sets up in its course. I'm still using 32:1 and continue to use this ratio. I'm not a 3D flier and I won't push this motor to the edge.

tailskid,
I have Ultra Sport Kit half ready, may be some of the parts are missing it's 40 size and Sig Kadet II I think 40 size kit incomplete and honestly speaking I have no time to put it together though it's gonna be a great learning experience for me. Ever since I sold out my Strega 40 size glow plane, and moved on to Gassers, my interest with glow and small planes has diminished. These kits I can sell for cheap if anyone is interested in it or you!

Ernie,
In my reply I never referred Ultra Sport as a kit for DLE20 and I also mentioned it's size 40. It's a glow engine kit, and of course it's not designed for DLE20

Not to worry, my reply was kinda tongue in cheek cuz of the thread. Someone's bound to strap a 20cc on it though. Take silly me for example, I had a Ultra Stick 60 test bed kind of plane and I put a Saito 125 on it first and that wasn't half bad actually. Then I put a ST 90 on it and it was definitely too heavy especially with that stock dog of a muffler.

How about a DLE 20 on an old school Deweville Special with parasol wing. Yep would whistle as it flew past, until the rudder pushrod came apart! Downsized to a Magnum 91 after repairs, and still too much power, flipped it on a crosswind takeoff, turned it into an F14.
