Anthony,

I too got to meet Andy a couple of years ago at a WACO fly-in at Troy. In fact, I'm pretty sure I remember your WACO (pre-crash) being there (beautiful plane). Andy was a great help in getting documentation together for my build and he even took me and a buddy up for a couple of flights, including formation flying with his wife Susan's plane and his brother's (in-law?) plane. I originally built a 1/5 scale version of the same plane and its been promised to Andy for the WACO museum when I retire it.

Hi Tony,
Yeah I had my Waco there on display. They wanted me to fly it but I wasn't comfortable flying it around all those nice planes there. I donated my 25% Waco to the museum last year. They are acquiring a good collection of models. I will most likely attend the Fly-In again this year and may fly my Waco this time.

Good Luck with your maiden.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I have almost finished building a Pica 1/5 scale YMF and discovered the nice molded windscreen is crackd on one of the side panels. Does anyone know where I might purchase another windscreen for this model. I have some lexan but no experience whatsoever in making a new windscreen that would look scale. Any ideas are most welcomed.

Work on the Barth has been kind of slow but I did manage to get the lower bulkheads installed in the correct place. I thought this would be a good time to install the tail wheel.
So far I’m impressed with the kit the tail wheel is first class.

What a beautiful plane you have there Tony. Very well done and love the colors.

Robert,

I noticed that you now use other membership information in your signature line and that your Waco Brotherhood number is absent. Any reason for that?

YMF 1/3 Barth

Building fuse. Attached photos show clamped but not glued yet. Trying to make sure everything is square. Slot and tab construction looks pretty good now. I never bought any modeler fixture tooling, but wish I had it now. A few other photos of other parts. Slow progress, but with all the bad weather i might move faster.

Love a radial for this but too expensive. What's a good choice?

Thanks,

Mike Hopkins

I do not know what you are seeing Bill. In the included photo of the screen of my last post I boxed my "Waco Brotherhood #184" signature. Is it not right?

I think you have to have one of those high powered memberships (not basic) to have more than a limited number of characters in your signature.

I had the same problem. It seems that RCU only allows a maximum number of lines of text in the signature. Delete the space you have left between your name and the line above and it should then show up.

Nope, it does not show anything but the Cub and STA line. May be a RCU curse.

You sure it's us that's nuts? You seem to be the only one who sees it there. Lol. Maybe we're all nuts to be making such a big deal. Hehe.

I definitely must be nuts since I went to the trouble to check multiple browsers!  At least for me, here's what I found:

The second signature line does NOT show up in these browsers:
Safari - Windows 7
Internet Explorer - Windows 7
Opera - Windows 7
Google Chrome - Windows 7

It DOES show up in these:
Safari - iPhone
Firefox - Windows 7

It has to be an issue with RCU script not being compatible with all platforms and viewers. I do not see Roberts Waco signature either.

That raises another questions why isn't it #1 in the list Sorry someone had to say it and well you know
Later!!

Flew my Great Planes WACO ARF at an Open House/High Wing event held at the Skystreakers field New Gloucester, Maine. The only other large biplane was a Hangar 9 Beast and few small electrics ones so the WACO was big hit with the other pilots and visiting spectators. I received a lot of compliments on the plane and my flights. The flying wires and dummy radial really liven it up. I can only imagime how well these larger WACOs handle in the air. It must be a real thrill.

Great day and great flying with my Katana, BUSA 1/4 scale CUB and E-Flite P-38 Lightning.

Hello Stickbuilder and Everyone

I have been viewing this thread for a while and still reading through it all and getting up to date.

However yesterday I finally ordered my Barth 33% WACO and as well as cause for celebration I thought it would be a good time to ask to join 'the Brotherhood' please.

Delivery is due in 4-5 weeks but realistically I will not be starting until the end of the year. The Initial plan is to install a 150 but subject to weight a MOKI 215 is also a strong possibility if not initially then certainly after a few flights and familiarisaton.

Thanks to TMAC48 also here in Australia for his advice in making the decision between a couple of choices....anyone else in Australia building WACOs and especially the Barth ?....I live in Sydney...or as someone once said...Sidneeeeee.....

Ta Dino
