Wow......are you saying that you are flying the plane at a CG of 7 inches???? That's amazing.....is the recommended CG that much nose heavy. Perhaps that IS the reason guys claim to be running out of elevator on landing??

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
I have been following this thread for a while and thought I would add my FW190 to the fold. I plan on a maiden in the next week or so ,waiting for the right time. here are a couple photos. Mostly stock with the exception of a mod to the DLE55 and a couple of small changes to airframe to allow for my choice of electronics and electric retract gear.

Wings are ready for glassing,I left the flap hinges stock as well as the flap trailing edges..I may change the edges if I get the time later....My DR-1 was at our fun-fly recently,I know,I know its not an FW-190,just thought I'd throw that in..

Is that a kit or a plan build?
Looks like I'll have to go down that road if I want a big FW-190 (without paying an arm and a leg rolleyes: )

Has anyone considered making the wing two piece and the horizontal stab removable? I wonder how hard it would be[8D]

I'm going to glue the tubes into 1 side of the stab & use screws in the other. I figure that repairs would be easier that way.
I thought about doing a 2-piece wing but decided against it. I could be done though. I once modified my 95" WS Sr Telemaster ARF to a 2-'piece wing. I had a precisely fitted dihedrel brace made out of maple in the pattern shop at work & made scew anchor points near the ends.

Awesome Srtelemaster. If it weren't for the fact of buying two Meister FW190's and getting the 109 this week, I'd be interested in getting another ARF and keep it simple but make it like mentioned. I still favor this scheme and this model makes it easy to do.

The removable stab idea was learned the hard way.
I screwed up a landing W/my PT-19 & broke off the right stabilizer. That will make repairs much harder since the vert stab is glued into the horizontal stab & faired in.
Since the full scale Wurger has an adjustable stab & is not faired in, making the stab removable seemed like a good idea.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
Had the dreaded full gear compression landing this weekend and the gear door came in contact with the runway. Not a lot of damage but scraped the doors and knocked them all out of alignment. I am now going to do the two piece door mod, thinking of going with a thin gauge aluminum if it's not to heavy. If all my landings were spot on I would not have to do this mod, but that's never gona happen.
