Aussiesteve,
RC Ignitions. Ok I Googled them and I keep getting a broken link? Can you give me their web site address?
Do they take the 20Ei Zenoah engine and replace the stock ignition unti with one of their ignition box upgrade?
Ignition box conversion is what they do with the Zenoah engine?

If it is a 1/4 32 spark plug, CH has them in the Rimfire and china made, From what i hear the Rimfire will last longer and they have the Rimfire for about what BP wants for a China made.

You have to call them to make a order.

I want to remind some of you that this is the RCGF 15cc thread
Some of you are wanting to post in this thread about other brand engines. Typically this (hijacking) starts out with a innocent comparison query with the subject engine and another brand but then the next guy jumps in and takes over with the off subject engine brand.
If you represent other brands of engines, be very careful how you post in this thread.

Companies will refrain from posting in threads of their competitors where the subject contains another companies name or product in it.

No. I do not work for or represent any brand or manufacturer or distributor in regards to airplane engines. If I have broken a rule, I apologize. I'm a guy just trying to learn the differences between engine A and engine B and from there make my purchase based on the information I receive from other members based on their experience. Sometimes it is necessary to mention a particular competitor in order to determine which engine is right for the consumer based on the experiences of other consumers. As long as "bashing" of any RCGf products does not develop in the sharing of information between registered users in this thread, I do not see any reason for concern or censorship by the moderator.
Also when I speak of Zenoah it is in regards to the Zenoah 20cc engine. They do not produce a 15cc gasoline two stroke engine like that of RCGF so, therefore, the two products are, for the most part, unrelated.

RE: 15cc Gas RCGF engine information thread
Hey Guys,
Thanks for your help, I was blind, a friend of me assembled the engine when it came in and for whatever reason, I just assumed that it was fitted with glow plug size spark plug. Anyway, when I took the boot out, it turned out to be regular CM6 plug like the one installed on my ZEN 20 or DL50; I changed the plug and sure enough, engine started working normally. (You sure do learn something new everyday in this hobby).
Incidentally, I found following company has NGK CM6 plugs at $1.98/-.

I just bought a new senior telemaster 94" wingspan,, I wonder how this 15cc engine would work on it,, or if it would need a 20cc for better performance,, I just want something to fly out of my backyard,,

Just my 2 cents I would'nt put a 15 on that size plane the 20 would be better but you might even think about something even bigger yet. I know you are not going to do 3d but you will still want to be able to fly your plane. You might want to look even at a 28-30 size engine. Remember just my 2 cents.

RE: 15cc Gas RCGF engine information thread
I was thinking of using a RCGF 15cc on the Hangar 9 40 size Sport Mustang which is the exact same size as the PTS RTF Mustang. I have the mounting template for that engine from the manufacturer, and that engine will have no problem fitting the fire wall. However the cowling would have to be rebuilt. I still do not know for sure about the airplane being too nose heavy. The wing loading for this Mustang is about 25.8 oz/sq. ft..

RE: 15cc Gas RCGF engine information thread
One thing you guys are'nt looking at is that the 20 is the same size and weight as the 15 but about twice the thrust. I was thinking about the 15 for a lot of the 40 - 50 size planes but after looking closer the 20 would be better. The next problem that you should be aware of is that most of the ARF airframes were not designed for that kind of weight and thrust that these engines put out. So be careful with what you choose. Manufactures will start to see a demand for these size airframes and decide to build them accomodate these bigger engines. Just my 2c worth.

What do you think about putting a ZEN 20ei in either the Top Flite AT-6 Texan 60 ARF or in the new BH Modles Texan ARF .91?

RE: 15cc Gas RCGF engine information thread
Only a question .....
According to manufacturer web site specs:
http://www.zjrcgf.com/productdetail.asp?id=103
Bore x Stroke (mm): 29mm*26mm
A simple calc rule , displacement is : 14.5 x 14.5 x 3.1415926 x 26 (square radius x Pi x stroke).
Thats about 17.17 cc
Why not call this engine as RCGF 17cc ?
I think if this engine performs as expected, is small in size and weight, displacement doesn't matter, but again, maybe this thread must be tittled 17cc Gas RCGF engine information thread ??

As an eye catcher for someone considering small and compact?? Aussiesteve says that the RCGF 20cc is really a 23cc but the Zenoah 20cc still has more power. He should know since he was a RCGF distributor.
