OMG!! I was looking through the book and pics as to how EMHW made the flying wire connections. I can not believe anyone would do as they illustrate, the wire runs through the threaded couplers then is twisted and heat shrink is suppose to hold it, see pics!! I will order some more oval sleeves from Vogelsang and do my usual crimp method.

Squirrely's Bird sure is looking sweet.
As for the wires ? Surely they silver soldered the wires before heat shrink . Not knowing if that would be safe if that's what they did.

I installed some plates for the wiring where it will run into the strut. Also the ailerons have been installed and waiting for me to install some linkage. Well, they'll just have to wait, for I am taking a break and watching some baseball.

I don't like it myself either... I would opted for the crimps as well, and maybe along with some small turnbuckles to make small adjustment possible.

Well Jeff, I finally have got back to the build. This morning while waiting for shade on the picnic table I have mounted the IP with it's mounting block's, installed the optic cable for the remote kill. Last week I picked up the G10 to replace the fiberglass for the fuse panels and have started cutting it to fit as well. The G10 is much lighter.

I went out to do a little yard work after gluing those up, to let them cure. And about an hour later, just when I was thinking of starting the sanding on the top wing halves it started to rain. The table is still wet as is the tree dripping from overhead. As soon as I can I will get them sanded so as to finish final uncovered assembly. Not really much to do but that always seems to be the case until one gets there.
I do love the dashes from Pavols as well, very subject oriented detailed.

Funny thing, earlier today I was thinking I am taking forever on this one. I just looked and it won't even be four months into the build until the 22nd.

You remember right, and the last couple have been filled with medical stuff. Been on some new meds and not liking them very much, making me groggy and lethargic. I am seriously considering dropping them, the pain is easier to handle than the fog.

My IP was taken from the actual FS airframe so it could not get any better. Jeff's was fashioned after mine, that's why it looks so good. LOL!
Changed up my meds yesterday evening and woke up today feeling better, less groggy with a little more pain but less groggy, but I consider it better.
Went to the airfield and got in several flights on the GP Pitts.
Come back home and commenced sanding on the last of the wings. The fit sanding is complete so now I can put it together, after fitting the control linkage of which is in progress, then the wings go on and the struts get fitted. After the struts comes the fine finish work, you' all know, the filling and fine contoured sanding. Well, gotta get back at it.
