Wagons in. Been flying my senior for about 3 years now, scratch built a 1/2a "Kadetito", and have a Seniorita in the garage still on the box....

RE: ~~Sig Kadet Brotherhood~~.
If it is alright, I would like to be added. I have a Kadet Seniorita that I am going to build by the plans, except I am going to electrify it. Only thing is that I am a slow builder and will probably take about a year to frame it up. So if this will be too long to become a 'Brother', I understand. Thank you.

RE: ~~Sig Kadet Brotherhood~~.
Now all you need is a website with forums and a webmaster, like the CL Ringmaster Brotherhood .... and a special handshake. Around first September weekend, they have an around the world fly off, where people send in the resulting number of flights from all Ringmasters and Ringmaster variants done on those days. Flights tally into thousands. As the Sterling Ringmaster is to CL, so is the Sig Kadet to RC.
Perhaps for 2 channels, we should have the Airtronics Q-Tee Brotherhood?

My first build was a Kadet MkII in 1984/85.
Learned to fly with it, and flew it for two years after.
Como .40 and a World Engines 6 ch. radio.
I built and flew all the K's except for the Kobra and King Kobra.

RE: ~~Sig Kadet Brotherhood~~.
Wow anyone who has flown one love the Kadet. My Kadet SR was my first build and first airplane. It taught me alot about building and also gluing my fingers together . I think its about the easiest plane to modify because it can hold alot of extra weight. Mine started as the standard 3 channel but after I overshot the runway and put it in I rebuilt as a taildragger with ailerons. The free spinning tailwheel I had on it taught me how not to over control the rudder on take off. I sold it a few years ago but still have plans I refuse to throw away. Please add me to the list.

Built my first in 1993 and taught two of my sons to fly it (the green one below). It's had a number of engines. the first was an HP-49 (terrible 4-stroke engine!), then an O.S. 70 surpass, then an O.S. 32 heli engine (??), then an O.S. 40 LA, then an O.S. 46 LA. It has strip ailerons and a large door that opens on the bottom of the fuselage for dropping things, or acting as a large air-brake to reduce speed and the amount of runway needed on landing. It's currently waiting for a re-build and a sixth-engine choice.
Second one is one of the first ARFs from a few years ago, with a PVC tube with servo, on the underside of the fuselage for parachute/tennis-ball dropping. It has a Saito 72 GK for power. It is set up as a conventional geared-aircraft. I have a small servo on the left side of the vertical stab, which is the rudder servo, as well as a small servo on the underside of the fuselage just ahead of the tail-wheel bracket, which steers the tail-wheel.
Have another new kit in the box, ready to build that one. Have a new O.S. 56 four-stroke for power. Wing will be modified with less dihedral, barn-door ailerons and flaps.
Even though my youngest son and I fly mainly quarter and third-scale, we always enjoy flying the Seniors!

I have a couple of questions for you guys:
1) Would I qualify for membership if I'm building a Jr from plans after the original build was "rekitted" during a move prior to being completed?
2) Does my build have to be completely box stock?

Hi Gary,
Sign me up also please...
Attached is mine. I get a few comments about the color, but I bought it in 1991 from a friend's wife who covered it and was learning to fly. I see from my flight log it last flew in April of 2009. It is 3 channel and this might get me going on adding ailerons and wing bolts! Power is an OS .40 FP which is more than enough. Weight is 5.6 pounds with a Futaba 7C.

RE: ~~Sig Kadet Brotherhood~~.
Count me in! I learned to fly...and repair...on the LT-40...kept the LHS in business at first! I made a number of mods like most everyone else...Saito 90FS, tail dragger, bolt on wing, no dihedrial, semi simi-symetrical airfoil, changed wing incidence, etc. Some mods were sucessful, some, not so much! I eventually moved from glow to gassers so left the Kadet behind but never forgot her! Eventually upsized to 104" WS with a 50cc gasser...flew just like the LT-40! Currently I'm bashing a LT-25...and radically bashing it, but right now, no photos. I'll post a few later today.
I'm subscribed so count me in!!

Hi Gary. Please add me to the list. I have a Sr. that I bought at the auction of an older club member's stuff after he passed. It had been converted to a flat wing with both ailerons and flaps. I have it flying with an OS 70 FS, and it is a pleasure to fly. I hope to get it re-covered this year or next, but it has to wait its turn.

RE: ~~Sig Kadet Brotherhood~~.
Sorry for running behind today guys. I have to limit my internet usage at work during the work days and if someone is available to help out during the weekdays, please step up and offer to pitch in. I'm going to get all the new members logged in right now and I apologize for not spending time with each of yall individually. I see some awesome planes, cool stories and what is most impressive is, folks posting up that either haven't posted in a long time, or ever! And, my tax refund showed up today. So Ill be a little busy later tonight shopping and in the morning when the money hits my card! I will be spending some money.

RE: ~~Sig Kadet Brotherhood~~.
Here is my Bashed LT-25, or as I call it Kadet LT-25-TM ( the TM is for two motors) You can see it is roughly a take on the Cessna 337 concept...pusher and puller. I kept the Kadet wing stock except for the wing tips. Ended the fuse at the TE of the wing and added a firewall and cowl for the pusher. The booms are CF wing tubes and the tail plane is all TLAR design. The elevator and rudder pushrods are inside the tail booms, servo's in the wing. Not quite finished with the wing and obviously needs covering. I anticipate it will weight about 4.5-5 lbs and is powered by 2 380 watt brushless motors and 2 4S 2600 LiPO's. I have absolutely no idea how it will fly! Pretty sure it WILL fly because it's a Kadet!
