YET, Todd, Yet! Just wait until I find my paintbrush.

As far as the dead sea scrolls go, I've been likened to them many times - old, brittle, hard to read, hard to deal with, ... there's a whole gamut of similarities there. The one SIGNIFICANT one that's still missing - haven't been found in a jar, YET.

Actually worked out great for me this year. Friday falls on a 4 day work week for me, so no PTO is needed. It's a 4 day this week for me too, only draw back is I have to work 10 hour days. Since I already work an extra 30 minutes each day normally, I just have to show up 30 minutes earlier. I have a few planes to maiden first, hopefully this weekend will be nice enough to get the Rascal 168 up and a round a few times to verify the RX placement resolved the issue. I also have a remaiden of the T-clips I repaired, the 4*60 with retracts, and a GP P-51 sport scale that I am finishing up, just need to balance it and it is ready to go. I also need to PM my trailer and make sure the bearings are well greased.

Wish I could say that. I still have to finish my two Kadet Jrs, give them a maiden, then drive for three days to get to the field. After that, it's three days home so I'd need seven days of vacation. Unfortunately, I don't have seven days left on the books due to taking that many days in October for another trip

Ouch, that had to hurt. It doesn' look to bad from the picture, is it salvageable?

Lol That would be the military's style...wreck a plane and get promoted.

Its more of a gauge to damage. Not minor but Major. I just wish the crash had been a little more spectacular!

Well if you get promoted for a crash I would be a 4* General by now. But General Crunch doesn’t sound as good as Captain Crunch.

Ha! I would be a General right there with ya! But I agree it doesnt sound right

Its probably salvageable, but the repair would take longer than the original build since the lower wings took a pretty good hit too.
For now I'm gonna set it aside and move on to something else

No where near as bad as my 10-300 Ultimate was at the Flyin. Dead stick + tailwind on a bipe = no control. SPLAT.

It's not much more than a scratch! You can rebuild that sucker in your sleep!

The hardest parts are deciding to do it and stripping the covering away from the broken area. After that it is just a jigsaw puzzle and thin ca.

And thanks to Bob’s advice i have saved a number of split, battered, and broken planes. The key is to set it aside and do like Bob says just start putting the puzzle back together. It has worked for me loads if times.

I still have 3 carcasses that can be put back together. One is an ugly ass parasol plane, another is a 4*120 ARF that lost a wing, and the other is the Ultimate Bipe, though the fuse was pretty soaked in fuel and may need more work than it's worth. Haven't thrown a plane away yet.

On that Ultimate, if it was a kit, do you still have the plans? I'd build a new fuse if you have them

It was kit built, but not by me. I might be able to find the plans and have them printed out, all depends on if I want to or not. I have plenty of t=other builds to finish first, like a P-51B, Corsair, B-25, P-61, Liberty Sport, and anything that needs minor repairs. Actually I bought the plane for the OS Gemini II it had, and that will go into the Liberty Sport.

Out of all the planes on that list, the one that will be most challenging will be the Liberty Sport.

I don’t know if y’all remember. But I built two fazers over the winter one with a Saito 72 one with a Saito 56. Well i got to test fly both and both flew good.
Work continues on the 4 hogs but now down to three. Running out of time before sig. still have a few things to do on the 168 rascal. Hope this weekend proves to be productive. Have a lot to do before Sig so I better get busy.
I wonder if this is what finals week feels like.
