I made a lot of progress today on my Bipe. I hook-upped the Pull-Pull system on the rudder. Installed and hooked up the elevator pushrods to the elevator servo. Installed the landing gear and wheel pants. I finally have this bird on its feet. I check the prop clearance. I can use a 17" prop if needed.

one issue N827TM.... I do not see the metal mount for the top wing installed. Its going to be a pain to install now that the sheeting is done. Truest me, I did this on a rebuild of min and had to cut the slots bigger, then come back in and fill them in.

Cubman, I can take the cabane strut on and off with a little effort. I re-enforced the balsa top to keep it from cracking. I fiberglassed all the structural points on the fuselage. Cabane Struts mounts, landing gear, wing mounts.

Cool, just knew I had some issues on my rebuild. I'm wanting to pull my OS 120 pump and drop a 20 cc Gas on the front, just trying to figure out a good cheap one to go with. I'm getting a 50-50 with the HK ones.

Here is another update with my Ultimate. Between work and Vacation I have not had much time to work on this bird. But there has been a lot of work accomplished since the last post. The fuselage is 2/3rds covered, The battery tray was mounted, All the structural points been fiberglassed. Hopefully tomorrow the fuselage will be finished being covered.

I have more work done on this beautiful bird. I plan on getting back to it next week. The Cabane Strut is bolted in, the landing gear mounted. I ran out of time with covering the rudder. I will finish it next week. I have started painting the cowl and wheel pants. It is a big work in progress.

It is a lot of work to put this bird together, but will be worth it. I finished the fuselage, I am painting the wheel pants and cowl now. Next I will be finishing the wings.

The nose on that is very interesting with the built up box. I wonder what engine it had originally been intended for....

I got my new vvrc 20cc gas engine yesterday. I am replacing a ys 120 that I had on my ultimate. I got tired of only 7 min of flight time, all the slime and fussing with the ys engine. As you can see in the pic it is going to be an almost direct drop in. I will need to space out the motor mounts about 1/4 in and redo the throttle linkage, and fuel lines. Looks like the biggest pain will be cutting the cowl for the muffler. The cuts in the cowl for the engine head almost match with the ys motor. I need to make a trip to the hardware store for some fender washers to space out the mount and I will be bolting it up.
I know this motor wont have the power the ys had but I dont 3d this plane so I think the gas motor will fly it nicely. I was able to sell the ys so I wont have much money into the switch.

Didn't know Valley View had a 20 cc motor. Took a look at it and the price is very good. I would be very interested if you would tell us your experiences with this motor when you finally get it in the air.
Thanks, John

I have seen several posts where others were using the dle 20 motor and I came across the vvrc motor. All the reviews I read were pretty positive. I got mine lightly used or I probably would have gotten the 21 motor. I live in ohio so it will be awhile before I will get to fly it since winter has set in.

I just picked up a used Goldberg today, it needs a little updating with the receiver and a few other things. I cannot wait to get this plane in the air I bought it from a guy that built it. he only started it and never flown it so its sat for the last 7 years . it has a os 91 glow engine in it. it will look great with my other bipes also. does this meen I get a number to?

heres a list of what I will be getting for this plane. the builder did not install the cowl properly so it hit on the spinner and ruined it. so I will be getting a truturn spinner, new cowl, battery is ordered and new receiver is ordered. the one thing I like the best is how he installed a tuned pipe inside the fuselage to hide it all I will put some pics up after I start taking it apart.

Love it....
You certainly don't have to move it.... but i can't see the
switch lasting long in its current spot.... any glow or oil leaks will spray it.... any lawn clippings you make will get into it... it's just a very dirty location on planes....

Default Joining???

Gentlemen (Ladies, if there are any??)

Would Like to join, if possible, read on.....

I've acquired an Ultimate 10-300 from somewhere, sometime??? It's a terrible thing to "loose" a mind... Seriously, I really have no idea how I came to possess this kit, and it's been with me a good number of years. I decided it was time to part with it (Ebay). So I decided to take an inventory, make sure everything was there before I listed it. There's some things missing (major and minor) which rules out listing it. I found the major parts (canopy, wheel pants,) are available from Fiberglass Specialties and the rest I can make, buy(wood). I guess I'm looking for help with what's next, trash what I have or push forward and build it. I had a Balsa USA Pheaton 1.20 size given to me RTF, flew it once, didn't like the way it flew. So I gave it away, RTF. Obviously you all have and fly the aforementioned Ultimate, so I'd like some honest thoughts on the direction to go.

Got2retire( actually did)
