RE: 2005 F3A World Championships
Remember they have 4 rounds to fly...Similar to the NATS but they can't
normalize until after all 4 rounds to get equal judge exposure. Then they take best 3 of 4 rounds and pick the teams and the semi pilots.
All pilots must fly against all judges. To normalize each round.
So right now they are all raws and by groups. Obviously some pilots have not
seen the judges and things will change a bunch.
Looks like CPLR is dominating again with huge numbers. For Team USA Jason is
2nd and Chip is 3rd for their lines with CPLR way out in front leading the
round. Sean is 3rd on his line with Roland leading the round. But this one
is tighter so far.
order now per group or per round basically round leaders but rounds are
incomplete. I hope I didn't miss anybody or mix up scores...This is what I
have it now.

One of the competitors sent me this photo of CPLR's model. I am not sure if he is using it but it does create a very interesting topic of discussion while we wait for the other rounds to be flown.
Anyone willing to give an explanation to this aerodynamic tweak. Or is it F1 technology with the onboard camera On the other hand it would make a great carrying handle

Hi
During its flight, CPLR used well this aileron.
He said, it's improve knife edge.
The stream of air are directed to the rudder and make it more effective.

I dont think there is any hatch. I think this appengage for a better word is simply taped to the top of the model. The mounting plate simply conforms to the shape of the fuse.

Hi all!
Wissinger is flying electric (Hacker), Benincasa and Friggeri are glow (Yamada). I don't know about the others. I'm a Friggeri great fan, but also a strong supporter of electrics. Rainer Hacker is a good friend of mine and an absolutely nice man. Jason Shulman will be proud in years to come of having been the "turning point" in F3A history. I'm almost sure that in a couple of years starters and glow drivers will be a thing of the past.
Regards,
Cesare

If you right click on a foreign language page you may see a choice to translate. You may need the google toolbar to do this, not sure. Anyway it will let you easily figure out how to sign up. It is a regular forum.
Anyway you can try this link to the video
http://videos.tf1.fr/video/news/lesjt/
You want to view August 21 20h not 13h video. Once the news video starts look for the stories below it and click on the airplane one. It is about 35 minutes into the 39 minute newscast (in french).
Hope this works for you,
Stuart Chale
I see someone posted a direct link while was looking for it

JYM-I think I am getting more info from you guys....lol
I think what I'll do is get hold of grandfather Leon Shulman, maybe he will liven up all of us. After all he started it and it went to Don and now David and Jason. Don by the way started the boys at 2 years old taking them to the field and putting his own flying aside (he was a hotshot flier himslf). If he wouldn't have so patiently taught them I don't think they would be such good pilots....;o} Can't take any credit on that front. Good thing I know which end is the front and back of an airplane....lol
I think it is great when fathers do that for their children if they are interested in flying of course.
Thanks for the posts I am enjoying them even if half of it is Hebrew.....}

RE: 2005 F3A World Championships
Second days scores are posted. Team USA is still strong, with Chip improving to about 560, but CPLR with a 630.4, wow! Almost anyone would be happy to get a raw score 100 points less; I would sure have liked to see that flight, did anyone record it?
