That Habu is just mental. People don't seem to get the fact that planes usually fly better at the low end of the weight and thrust equation rather than at the overpowered end

My Habu 32 with a p20 was quite the rocket when the fuel was getting low due to lower flying weight. Problematic to take off on grass though and often felt like it did not have enough power when fully loaded. I saw the pics of the K45 Habu and I'm sure that would be one heck of a rush to fly, although gut feeling is that the added weight could make grass takeoff's very hard on the undercarriage and very short flights due to size of fuel load. Probably fine on tarmac??
I saw the M35 at the Jets Munt stand at Jetpower a couple of years back. Similar weight/size to the P20 but an extra 1.5kg of thrust. I think if that turbine ever comes to market I will resurrect my turbine Habu 32 as I've subsequently sold the P20 to help fund other projects.
Would love to see a video of that K45 Habu in action though!!!

Instead we get statements like the above , guys fly their airplanes however they feel like if they feel like overpowering them it is fine , you choose to fly yours your way that is fine , do not come on the forum and force your opinion on other people , and telling people what you think they get or do not get , make comments that promote the hobby not insult others

You guys make such bold statement ,I wonder sometimes , people who fly Rc are supposed be intelligent and sensible to all facets of the hobby and be accommodative

My Feedback: (18)
The Avanti and K45 should be here by tomorrow, this should be a pretty quick build. No smoke or VT on this one ;-) I fly off a very rough grass field, my overpowered mid-size avanti takes off in 30 yards. This is why I want the power. And it would be foolish not to cite the price difference between the two turbines. I'll open a separate thread once I get it out and start taking pics.
Seba does not think this turbine is ideal for this plane. It is with full understanding that I am on my own as far as air frame failure. Hopefully, this will provide useful information, good or bad, for everyone who is planning on building one.

Dang it.
You had to post this right in front of me.......
I have been teetering on the fence between the K60G and a 44 Gold for my Yellow Stingray.
K60G is a lot less money but is heavier and thirstier. The 44 Gold is much lighter and drinks a lot less fuel but costs a lot more.
This new K45 may just be the perfect power choice for this jet on all fronts.
You may have just killed one of my last excuses for procrastinating on starting this build ......
Thanks a lot.......

I do prefer the lightest possible setup, sacrificing thrust to less weight as I travel allot and do flights from various fileds with very different conditions. Better safe than sorry on a short field. For me lighter is better. For most cheaper is better. For everyone your preference is the best! My advices - your heart!

Hi Henke
I have the Grumania F100 from 5-6 years ago. This has been flown with a MW44 gold.. didn't really enjoy it as it was too heavy. Wondering if I should revive this plane with a T-50 Kolibri?...

Really??
That's the ideal combo IMO. I flew one with a P-80 and THAT was too heavy, but the P-60 powered one was a better, lighter flier (even with external fuel) than the DF one. Mine carried flaps and speed-brakes and still slowed down better than my GDF.

Shaun, Vincent thought that K45 and P60 looked the same in size, then claims that they are the same weight when the K45 is indeed lighter.
