Anyone know the capacity of the smoke tank?

Mine also has some inconstant gaps on the stab. I used clear duct tape to seal the gaps. Over 100 flights and no problems. I figure this jet is much less expensive then others, so some inconsistencies can be expected. As long as they don’t compromise the flight characteristics and safety, I’m happy to accept them.

Can you send a picture of your clear duct tape fix. I’m curios how much it effects the appearance of the airframe.

Anyone got a good set of rates and expo settings to start with? Factory recommended rates good enough?

I am away from home until Sunday night, I should be able to post some pictures for you when I get home. However with the clear duck tape (essentially stronger/thicker clear packing tape) its nearly unnoticeable, especially if you take your time to make sure there’s no bubbles.

I used the recommended rates, and still do in fact. As someone stated, it’s all personal feel, but it’s a good stable place to start. I find it it could use a little more roll, but it makes for a nice smooth starting point.

I would judge it by how it flies inverted more then how much up trim is showing. My elevator looks to be 2-3mm up, however it doesn’t need much down input when inverted.

Sorry for the delay, here are a few pictures with the tape sealing the gaps. It’s pretty hard to see that there’s tape on there. It’s a little more tricky on the bottom side, but not difficult.

As I’ve mentioned I think it’s important to consider the cost of this jet compared to its competitors. It’s FAR less then the competition, so this is to be expected. To demand perfection at this price level I think is unreasonable. This jet offers exceptional value and has excellent flight characteristics. These “defects” don’t affect the flight performance at all, and you can’t see those gaps when it’s flying.

My fit is slightly better. But I need to be able to remove stabs for transport. I don’t think I will be able to tape them.

You are correct. Good workmanship is good workmanship. At this price point and being a toy good workmanship is if it looks nice and stays together in the air and can take some abuse. Having perfect gaps and flawless paint is craftsmanship which is much less common and more expensive.
