Bart, outstanding as usual.... Did you do the design yourself for the electronics mounts in the nose? Too cool! Did you use the 2018, or a powerbox?
edit: I see the robbe display, I didn't think you could use the igyro with the 2018, did you just run servo wires direct?

You can't use the igyro with the robbe system? I hope you can, i was planning to get one for my f14, i thought u just plugged it in between the receivers and the battery backer.

I stuck with air on this system but used 2 x jetronic valves in parallel and an adjustable meter out restrictor, The issue with these big cylinders is not so much getting the air in but getting the air out. Really happy with the authority. Had to use 6 air tanks.

If you have a look at the early videos of SM flying the 14 you can see they are running the robbe system with I Gyro and Anton even posted vids of it flying different configs with gyro turned off to show how stable the platform is, even one vid with one wing back and one forward.
Not meaning to start a conflicting discussion, just pointing out what I have got.
Oh yeah, dont forget that the I Gyro only has a single output for the rudder so both rudder servos need the same channel number programmed into them.

There's definitely no conflict Bart, in fact I am intrigued to learn how you configured the gyro into the 2018. I tried every conceivable configuration and could not arrive with the desired effect, in fact I spoke to Richard at Powerbox and he said "they are not compatible". I'm obviously not using a gyro in the one I'm flying right now but feel I would like one to assist with swept wing flight.

On Barts advice I have an igyro hooked up through the PSS2018 on my SM 1/6 F16 and the same set up on my CARF Mig 29.
Between them I have approx 35 flights. After every flight both my receivers are reading 100%. I now have the gyro on all the time on rud,ele,ail. My gains are around 50% on each surface but I've never used heading lock. The combo works really well in that configuration smoothing out the flight and making it appear more realistic but still making the pilot do all the work.
As Bart suggested go with what you feel comfortable with but just letting you know I've had great results on Barts set up.
PS Your F14 looks awesome

Yes I tried every conceivable scenario! Having said that I am referring to my first F14 which if you remember crashed due to an unexplained radio malfunction. So I have not actually tried an iGyro in this new one.
I will probably have another go once the model has completed it's CAA exemption cert program. I'll let you know,

I was just wondering if we have the radio configured in the same way? I used "Flying wing two aileron/one flap" model type then mixed the spoilers from there, could this setup be confusing the gyro?

Bart, That is great news that the gyro works with the 2018! I'm still at a loss for how you do it. Do you just take two leads from the gyro and send them to the two rx inputs on the 2018? The power box SRS is obviously another route, but I love the way the wiring works on the 2018.

Hey current owners im working on my pipes and im not sure which is best since the pipes are not marked left or right. Trying to figure out which is best, the pictures shows the issue
Any thoughts on this plus my bellmouth has to be in the turbine side of the mounts so the screw go in from the front, this is the only way to get the tab on the pipe in forward enough to screw on the tail cones.

Ahh Well there is no way to check that, the only thing you can do is make sure the swing same distance on both sides. The wing incidence is the angle of the wing itself, with this design you cannot change it. I wonder if they mean travel?

As I mentioned earlier the iGyro will only run the tailerons and not spoilers. The spoilers on this plane are not required for control as there are a lot of models sold without the soiler function. My original FEJ f14 did not have spoilers and it had no problems with authority.
If you try and run delta in the radio and delta in the iGyro you will confuse the crap out of it.

So your using the program functions and match both servos to use one channel then? One good thing about Sbus you can 6 servos assigned to channel one and have them all matched perfect by programming the servo endpoints, center and stuff in the servo..Plus it cuts down on overall number of channels used. Is this what you mean by "one channel" for alierons and elevators?
