RE: Jetlegend 1/6 Scale F16
Hi Mat,
The pipe is good quality but only big enough for up to 160 N thrust. Many of us flying it with P200 or P180 engines and got a bigger pipe 100mm diameter for these bigger engine.
The plane is light with the standard gel coat. An external paint job looks nicer but add about a few more pounds after all the sanding, and spraying.
Flies great with 160N and will go slow high alpha and climb unlimited with a P180 size engine.
By the way, we have extra water slide decals for any one who wants to do an external paint job. Just send me a request to [email protected]
http://www.globaljetclub.com/Aircraf...ing-Falcon-1-6
you can see the details on these decals.
By the way, the standard kit does not have air brakes or opening canopy. We added the air brakes and opening canopy after market.

Hi Mathew,
The pipe is fine - in fact your choice of engine is exactly the same as one of my friends and that has had quite a few flights with no problems. As for the rest of the parts - you won't be disappointed!
Send me a mail to jeff.sewell@ virgin.net, for your other questions, or use the contact details on www.zedjet.com and give me a call...
Cheers
Jeff

Martyn,
Your idea of re-drilling the mounting plate seems to me to be the best idea and I intend to do the same.
Question, Did you set the tailplane incidence to 0 degrees ie following the centreline of the wing or does it need a degree or so of positive ?
Cheers
Steve

RE: Jetlegend 1/6 Scale F16
I am considering crossing to the "dark side" (joke) with the amount of development having taken place to date and Mat is a best mate and trusted advisor (basically I would do what he told me to do when it comes to jets). With a fund put aside from my own model sales over the last two years that was destined for a new 3M aerobatic job (my original gig) I am feeling more attracted to the jet side of things on a number of counts;
1) Challenge : Flying them the way I want to fly them is a challenge for me and especially the landing (We have a carrier deck style 100M runway. Land or come off that and you are most likely in for a credit card moment). I like to beat the odds.
2) I'm not sure how much more improvement I can achieve in my aero/3D flying. (probably getting too old !) So what new challenges would I have with a new 3M plane : none really. And I have done Heli : Im not bad but when I look at videos of children flying the likes of T Rex 700 I realise I started Helis too late and I will never be better than a sportsman class (if even that). Gliders are fun when you are flying with like minded buddies who want to push their luck. Otherwise its boring. You get the idea !
3) Jets are sexy, they sound great, and when it comes to the public most think they are the nuts. If you like to show off a bit then get a jet. (I like to show off at shows if I can do something worth seeing).
4) techno improvements. Ive had a go on a few and experienced the time for spool up (like tea and sandwiches) versus the new kit and then there is the true MILF of Jets that makes me sit up and pay attention : Vectored thrust. Now THAT is s£x in rc flying.
OMG I'm actually talking myself into this !
SOrry back to earth.
Some important Qs for me;
1) Is the 160SX enough for good high alpha and pull away. [I dont want to go bigger than 160SX cos I want a turbine that will fit into smaller airframes. So 160SX is my limit] (Is there enough power to weight to hover on the JL F16)
2) Is there a VT unit for this model or has anyone retro fitted one from another model ? (I am told SM have tried one)
3) Is any of this going to make any difference and have I already convinced myself to sell my body (or the wife) and become a jet jockey
[Whilst this would be a first jet I have flown a couple safely from our harrier deck field]
thanks

Go for it, you'll be glad you did. Just don't misplace your credit card anytime soon as you will want to use it often.[8D]

Fixing a prop in front of that F-16 looks to me very strange [&o], Why not transforming it in a U-Control model also ?.....

RE: Jetlegend 1/6 Scale F16
Finally got some time to do some LED lighting, make a "Air Brake" working and ..........
Pretty much a strai****rward build, a little bit easier than other F-16 ARFs and looks more scale.

Hi Nikki
Watch out on your Rudder servo installation servo. Make sure it's rock solid. I would prefer the conventional way of pull/pull. or the external linkages that other 1/6 F-16 builders did. Check with Billy and see how his F-16's rudder's installed. Let me know what you think. Thanks,
Mike

Thank you Mike. I saw billy's F-16 many times and others.
I do know what your mean and it happened to me once as well. I lost rudder during the flight my previous F-16 as you know but i donot want to see the rudder linkage this time. ...
Yes !!! I will make Rock Solid.
Thank you

RE: Jetlegend 1/6 Scale F16
HI !!! bskyinc I spent so much time to make this work.
First time, I tried with Servo and it worked fine but a lot of heat produced due to heavy load on servo when air brake fully closed and opened.
Second time, I tried with Air cylinder but Air brake didnot fully closed or opened.
Finally, I used servo again to do the work and now It looks fine. The location of the Air Brake servo is 3-4" back from the Elev. servo. I will take some better pics tonight.
To make "Air Brake" Funtional need some patience.

RE: Jetlegend 1/6 Scale F16
Im just joining in here. picked up a use 1/6 JL F-16 for a winter build. Its a bit damaged, but will live again. I will be back up when I read this whole thread before asking questions. Went through the model last night in detail. Its not too bad. the previous owner put an external rudder servo setup on it, but other than that, the gelcoat is damaged on the nose area. It had 3 extra 20 oz tanks put in it too. Seems to have alot of room in it. Nice landing gear.. Thrust tube is a little heavy.. Cool Nose gear mech..
I will probably put scale lights on it.
I flew the full Scale F-16 for several years, so I will probably paint it like one of my old jets...
I plan to power it with the New Wren 160 from Wren USA.
