a guy told me, when the skygate hawk was new, before it was named skygate, the used 3 liters og kerosine in the nose to keep it balanced, so maybe in the older days it was tail heavy? - and today with herex sandwich, they just keep the old well known system?
Hi Kasper, Not TRUE at all.

I was there when Volker test flew his production Hawk in Hungary (a few days before the JWM 2005). The only upgrade to the original model since that time was the vertical stab and empennage as the model suffered some flutter.

Best BAE Hawk Mk66 ever, in my opinion, that's why I have TWO.

Darryl,

I remember watching that flutter and landing and wondering a) how the fin stayed on and b) how a model that big could land at that angle of attack so slowly without damage!!

Awesome model :)

Guys i am thinking to use the new jetcat P300 in the Hawk.
Not to get more speedy, but to have more vertical performance... i saw the video of Victor Cavo using 2 - p160 ...
what do you guys think about?

jetpilot 03-15-2013 03:47 PM

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

It will be fine with P300 but I think it will have all the vertical you want with the P200. I take off at half power with P200 already to look scale.

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

as i see it, theres no use anymore for the P200, the p300 is about the same size, and weight.

its funny with the jetcat engines..

p20rx, p60se, p80se, p90rxi, p100rx, 140rx, 180rx, 200sx, p300RX and the P400RX

those i have marked with red shouldent be in production today... WHY should you ever want a P140rx???

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

I thought the P200 and P300 where alot different in size?

only the length

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

Hi Kasper,

I agree with you 100%.

For Models that require 7 to 9 KG Thrust I would use the JetCat P-100RX
For Models that require 10 to 12 KG Thrust I would use the BF Turbine (B100F which produces 127 Newtons)
For Models that require 13 to 16 KG Thrust I would use the Behotec 180 Gold
For Models that require 17 to 20 KG Thrust I would use the Behotec 220
For Models that require 20+ KG Thrust I would use the B300F or the JetCat P-300RX

Hi,

Who have some pictures about the small front gear doors linkage?

Best Regards.

I have small hitec flat wing servo just behind wood frame that holds nose retract. I have a pushrod on that servo that runs parallel to wood frame for the nose gear. I cut hole thru wood and pushrod attached to control horn which is part of hinge that holds the small nose gear door. I would take picture but airplane currently in process of being painted

Is neutral stabilator (for level flight) when leading edge of stab is in line with the seam where rear hatch meets fuse? Thanks

tobba 04-14-2013 01:22 PM

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

Correct.

trailing edge right?

roydefiant 04-15-2013 11:18 AM

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

The question at hand is leading edge or trailing edge?

schroedm 04-15-2013 11:41 AM

RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5

Finally! 1 year and 3 months!!
I thought for sure this one would come out nose heavy because the nose is longer and I even added carbon in nose section. right on the money or slightly tail heavy. Its right on 330 right now.
