If I do not set the slipper just right I will rip it to shreds with my HPI 15SS.

the only way you will get a 21 in a rush is to make a new chassis then put tranny from a 1/8 buggy or a jato or somthing i no they may not fit but even if you can try and fit a 21 in you will rip the tranny more specifically the idle in 1 tug of the radio the only 21s that may not do this a low quality rtr moters with 2 or less hp and higher end power with low toque

Hello im new to the site, im Darren from the UK, ive been reading through the pages for the last few days on this thread lol, had a few thundertiger touring cars in the past, got a rush evo for my birthday early december this year, got a few nice tips from you lot already, and ive broke things on the truck now so many times :lol: its got the stock T.15 engine, i today though i have got a sway bar kit, and matched the exhaust to the engine port, but havent been able to try it yet as the diff bevel gear decided to break a tooth , very helpfull site and you all seem like genuinely helpfull people,

i stripped the idler gear like some of you then couldnt get hold on one from a local model shop so i started to make a new one using nilon, not a very good pic but this was the cutting the teeth stage

also the time before i managed to break the diff shaft...

here it is being made as again couldnt find any local to me...


and it finished...



i will update with any other pics i got, and anything else i do to it

heres a few more pics for those thats intrested, with the sway bars on, i also got a fail safe which defo is needed as i took it out and the batts in the car was almost dead which i didnt realize and it full throttled down my street into a curb and bent the cassies and a few things lol

Not sure lol, found a hpi dealer near where i live so bought a spare kit, then ended up using it, but i only need to cut it off from the rest then bore out the other side for the bearing to sit in, i will try it when the spare gives up goat, i also made a slipper clutch pad, as it burnt out on day quite late so no shops would have been open, so took a template and made it out of a circuit board with no solder joints in, seems to work just as well, but will be getting a proper one soon,

yay i am finally getting my first nitro car on tue. i have one question though. how long will a tank of fuel last and how big is the fuel tank in cc. thx

hey everyone glad to see the thread has got some life bk into it(well sort of) i havnt been here for a while as it seemed to die off as the rush got less attention.
ive now got a tuned pipe,air filter,fuel filter,moved my batt pack to on top of the radio gear cover,added some lead strips to the front tower to hold it down a bit more and read alot on tuning and put it to practice.
I think im now getting the most out of the crappy T-15 engine but what i am getting isnt bad(well will do untill ive got the money for a O.S engine)
anyone got some ideas what else i could do to it with out spending big money for some extra speed?

I would like to get a new spur and C.B but dont have a clue which ones i can use?? i want to make the accel more rapid!, could anyony list some spur/C.B combos please as i dont want to just get any and end up stripping something

well, whatever you do with that, you need to get engine mounts first. you could spend all your money on those if you got the good ones, or spend 2 or 3£ on the cheaper ones. the rush is already geared pretty low (13/56), so about the only thing you could do is get an 11t CB, unless you can find any larger spurs than 56t. with the engine mounts you have to adjust your mesh properly so read up on that before you dive in

ive seen a couple of people race some rush's there not too bad but if i was going to race a stadium class i definatly wouldnt get one. they are exellent first time cars. if you are new to nitro its an exellent balance of speed and control for a beginer.

yeah the rushes gearbox and cg arent up to par with its rivals rc10 etc way back some one did combine a rush and a rustler or rc10 or losi and i think it turned out well its in this site somewhere but i dont know if it when this thread.to my knowlege a rush will need a few upgrades before it is amasing but stock if the drivers in the feild are relitve similar in skill i think the rush could get mid feild remebering that in general the driver wins the race on skill not wallet.if i where you i would keep the rush for bashing but if you do race say how it goes

also anyone in my area(putney,barnes,sheen,mortlake or richmond) who goes bashing with there cars, theres 3 of us but would be much better with a few more
we use a bit of waste land where we have built a few ramps and have loads of space to do what u want
