Default RE: OFFICIAL HPI RUSH / EVO THREAD

well there is the OS 18cv-r that should be plenty of power for a rush, its what i run in my mt2 and its damn fast, but if you want an engine that would probably instantly wear down your diffs, spur and cb you should get the OS 18tz that thing is going way overboard, the mt2 drivetrain cant handle it but i dont know about the rush

Biggest thing you have to worry about is the weak middle gear in the transmission! If you are going to keep running your Rush and since it is discontinued I recommend you buy a few extra no matter what engine you run. Yes and OS 18 CV-R or RX is all the power you will need.

Hi Mate. I'm only in Cwmbran so not far from you. Have to go out for a bash one day when the weather gets a bit better and I figure out my truck a bit more.

If you are going to run your Rush a lot it would be advisable to start stocking up on parts. The Firestorm took the Rush place.

The Nosram .18 is a cracking little engine, my friend has one in his MT2 and it does very nicely. Jespares.com have both the OS and Nosram engines.

Nosram are good engines there made by SH and SH makes engines for many companies like XTM, LRP, Sports Works and more.

Welcome to the forum.
If you have a Rush Evo it comes with the stronger chassis. It was just on the original Rush that had problems. Buy as many extra parts as you can get as the Rush has been discontinued. Get a hand full of middle gears as if you do not have the slipper set correctly it will eat them up.

As far as hop ups how much do you want to spend?

hello my u.k dude...

1st thing is the black springs suck!!.. they have like 10w oil..(thin) and it bottoms out alot!, hpi do a purple spring set for the rear, i run 30w in the rear and 25 in the front but i race mine..(well use to).. but 30w front and back is cool for bashing... i would suggest the yellow soft springs for the rear... why i hear you asking...!!..
well...

if the front is soft and your bashing around it take all the punishment and holds the rear more, if it is hard it will bounce and twist the evo being rear wheel drive... not fun..lol
put yellow on the front and you will see the difference, the purple rear will make it sit slightly higher but wont bottom out so much...
this is soooo much better for handling, i upgraded to a metal front servo, but they can be exspensive...

also rear toe-in helps with control as the evo does spin out alot... my evo still does it with over £400 spent in parts on her..lol, thats rear wheel drive for you, but it is more fun somrtime..

make sure your t-15 is running slightly rich, when screaming at there higher revs they heat fast, just a little info!...

I do not run my Rush much any more as I race and the Rush will never be a competitive racer and is why HPI came out with the Firestorm. On an off road track the Rush does not have a chance against the Firestorm or many other 2 wheel drive stadium trucks. It is a fun basher. My Rush is an original Rush and I got it right after they first came out.
