I have installed a DBC3 in my HL tiger 1 and all is working well except that I have no gun elevation.
In picture #4 you can see the red/black wire with a 2 pin connector that I cannot find a connection for. The wire comes from the bottom of the elevation motor and I cannot see anywhere that it would hook up.
Can anyone help the newbie out with this????

The elevation motor has to be connected to the RX 18. You can either connect them directly to the RX18 or to the yellow and brown wire I have circled. Do the same kind of thing you did when you joined the Blue wire. Pull the yellow and brown wire from the harness and connect them directly to the wire you have in your hand. As long as those wires in your hand are going directly to the elevation motor

It is now clear what is required as previously I did not get the part about pulling the wires out of the 5 pin to connect them.

I have unhooked the yellow and brown from the 5 pin hull plug .I tried yellow to red and brown to black and nothing. Did the reverse and still nothing!

Well that is a mystery then. The Brown wire is Positive and the yellow wire is negative. It should make no difference how you hook them up to the red and Black. The Heng long elevation is a cam and is happy turning either way.

Tell me what you did once these wires are hooked up. Down on the left stick should should cycle the elevation motor. Are you are absolutely sure the wires you have in you hand are connected to the poles on the elevation motor and are not connected to an LED or something?. I haven't bought a new Heng Long in a while and have never experienced the elevation motor with a dedicated two pin connection like you are holding. That is why I am asking, are you sure those wires are hooked up to the elevation motor.

If you have another low amp motor hook it up to the brown and yellow wire, or of course a volt meter would help to make sure you have power to those pins.

I think the two pin wire you are holding in the 4th picture is the recoil wire. Can you check and see if that wire is connected to the airsoft unit (blue plastic) for me? If so then that will connect the the motherboard.

Thanks for the reply.
The blue recoil wire is hooked to the dbc3 and the recoil function works well with the IR system that I have installed.
There are two red/black wire sets coming off the gun. One runs back to the turret motor which is working fine and the one I have in my hand which comes from the bottom of the gun which goes??????

Well. Take a battery and hook it up directly to the wires you are holding in your hands. IF the nothing happens, then those wires have nothing to do with the elevation unit or you have some problem with the wires from this point back to the elevation motor.

Have you taken the turret apart to check where those wires go.? As I mentioned I have never come across a heng long that had the elevation motor with a two pin connector like that. Usually the elevation motor and the airsoft motor share a common positive,( brown Wire) and are activated with separated pulses of a negative signal. Yellow and Blue wire respectively .

Let me know if this helps. This is the airsoft wiring diagram from our kit manual. It should be very similar to yours except for the top hull wiring connectors. The two wires at the very top left going into the motherboard are for the recoil in the RX18.

I wonder if that connector just needs to be bridged. Perhaps it was the connection to the Air soft on off switch. If that is the case you would just need to bridge the gap.

I have taken a few more pictures to show the exact location.The first shows the red/black wire coming directly from the bottom of the gun. The second shows the red/black/white wire from the side. I believe that the connection that I have belongs to the airsoft unit which I don't want to use, but I would like to figure out what happened to my gun elevation. I have swapped out the DX18 and nothing changed so I am mystified as to where to look next.

I did check Erik and it isn't connected to the airsoft unit.

Ok on the first post, 4th picture you are definitely holding the recoil wire for the airsoft unit (the blue big piece of plastic). In the picture I see above the wire on the left is the same as the 1st post 4th picture. That is a contact switch. If you start the tank and hold them together then it will recoil and jerk until you separate the wires. On the right picture of the quote I see the airsoft unit, but no where do I see the elevation unit. Could you get us a picture of the elevation unit and the wires please? Also the on/off switch if you have one please too.

AS you can see from the diagram it is fairly straightforward but the connection after the hull plug is something I can't find . Here are a few more pictures that may help. If any others are required just let me know.

are you not trying to get your elevation to work ?
you keep showing pics of your airsoft unit not the elevation motor all the wires on the airsoft wouldn't have anything to do with the elevation motor inside the turret

Simply find the two wires that come from the elevation motor and connect them to the yellow and brown wire.

Apparently we have many who can tell me that I am looking in the wrong place but nobody who can point me in the right direction. If you can be helpful, feel free to advise, otherwise don't bother!!!!!!

Those two wires are connected as shown to the turret motor which controls left and right movement. Does it somehow control elevation as well? I doesn't look like it to me.
Also side to side turret movement works perfectly!
