Hi Gary-
I just wanted to say a sincere "Thanks" for taking the time to share all your tips and methods here. I have learned much from it, even though I don't own a CARF Corsair (yet...)
Would love to see you do the same for a CARF '47 one day if you happen to get a build job for one.

BTW, I have adapted the canopy system to a couple P-51s on request. It can be done.

For you guys who have one of these in your future, here is a video of one of our builds. You may have seen it before, but if not, it is professionaly done and I hope you will find it to be an enjoyable couple minutes.

BTW, you guys seen my scale instrument panels? It includes the laser cut aluminum panel (including the screw holes), machined aluminum bezels in all three sizes, the instrument sheet, clear plastic, and the little screws. Paint these up, and then beat on them, and you expose real aluminum.
If my nephew ever gets my web site done.............this will be easier. Maybe I should just pay the boy something.

Well, I thought I would modify my top hatch latch going forward for future kits, but I have reconsidered. I came up with a nifty push button release that mounts in the instrument panel of my P-47 build. They I realized that, in order to open the power canopy to get to the push button, the switch must be on and the radio powered up, and these are under that very hatch. Also, I'm sure that some guys will just screw the canopy on and call it a day. So, for the time being, I will just leave the hatch as I originally designed it, using the gas cap as the release.

Yes, the system is adjustable. The range I need for the Corsair is 5.5", but this jack screw will do up to 7.25", and the motor can be fitted with even longer ones if need be. I don't think range would be a problem for even the largest of canopies.
On the panels, no, I don't have an aluminum one for the P-47. However, Dino already offers a very nice one (not aluminum) that is ready to install and looks great. I'm not doing the cockpit in the one I'm building right now, but on the next one I do, I'll be using Dino's. Saves me about 10 hours of work and looks almost as good
For the Meister P-47 I don't make anything to share for the cockpit. I do have patterns for all the cowl flap parts for someone who wants to add them to the fuselage as the full scale has. This makes getting the front section over a radial very easy. I also have the wing tip nav light lenses, and other lighting like the formation lights. Also have the custom length engine stand offs for the Moki 150/180 to bolt right in the P-47. A few things.

NOTE..... the drive system must mount in front of the canopy. YOU MUST ACCOUNT FOR THE SPACE NEEDED when laying out the other components that will occupy the space in the nose. Everything fits nicely including the tank, but I recommend getting this system laid out and working around it.
My critical path for the fuselage is basically this, with regards the front section.
1 install the slider (fixed section removable at this point)
2 install the instrument panel (the rails go through this)
3 if using the top hatch where the main fuel tank was, install this now along with all switches and other things in there
4 now install the drive system
5 then the radio and fuel system can be fitted around these other components

Hi Ram
Beutiful work all around, a few questions please. On the down and lock linear action servo do you need a control board for the proper start, stop , reverse movement ? I tried the idea with the robart drive mechanisum and ended having to go to a Fergelli linear servo. They work without the use of any special control boards.
Second question, have you considered making the corsair interior kits for small scale application like the ESM 75" Corsair ?
Thanks
Lou
