I concur on the pro mark dry transfer decals..... Used a set on my P40 and they have stayed on with the flying cleaning and reshrinking of monokote... Good stuff

As far as graphics, I went with Flightline Graphics in England. They have rub ons, stencils, and decals. Having only put on one so far, things size very well and went on so nicely. www.flightlinegraphics.com

I'm just sticking with Fighteraces.co.uk for the decals. Their prices aren't bad and the details are awesome.

44, I have gotten a couple of other things from Phil at Fighter Aces, and he has a very good service with a real large spread of products.

Both companies are very good and offer excellent service. I use them both, and fly regularly with both owners.

Hey n86222t,

I like your engine choice for your Butcher Bird. The Roto twin four stroke should sound AWESOME ! ! ! How much of the cowl, if any, did you have to cut away in order for the motor to fit? I'm looking forward to seeing your progress pics.

Thanks hrrc I hope to be ready for the first engine start in two weeks. Here are a pics of my progress so far. I had to change the way the cowl mounted to a more typical method and the I knew the left side of the engine was going to be the only issue but not major

The carb also caused some reorganizing of gear since the interior will probably get some fuel spitting from the carb opening

This is my FW 190 tail wheel. You can get them from Sierra. They are very light weight and cheap! I'm taking some more to Toledo to restock Darrell. Plus they are the correct size

I think it's a matter of preference as to it being the correct size.. I like the size of the larger version designed for the Vailly/Donsmith/Meister. I would like to see the smaller unit installed though.

Cheap is a relative term. That is not how I would have described these. They are a very nice unit though and seem to be priced according to the quality. I have heard problems with the shaft coming out of the air cylinder bending though as this is not hardened. So you might want to avoid slamming the tail down when it is extended.

The smaller 1/5th scale version are prone to the seals breaking. I've had this happen twice and have heard horror stories about the same from others. Another reason I went with the larger more sturdier version.

Yo.. peeps! lol.. I'm talking TAIL WHEEL ONLY! not the retract mechanism. The tail wheel is the right size for these birds. You can use any mechanism you desire

Hey n8622t,

I'm surprised that your Roto didn't stick out any more than it did. I think you'll love it in your Butcher Bird. I am also quite partial to the FW you showed in your post since it is currently sitting in a hangar about 45 minutes from where I live. As luck would have it, I was able to see it fly for the first time in the US. The pilot did a full speed low pass right down the runway that made every hair on the back of my neck stand straight up...............LOL I also happen to have over 80 pictures of the plane on my hard disk, so if you need any more, I'll be more than happy to share them with you.

Here's something you don't see every day. Enjoy
