RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Well done guys, that is a great promo video for your Club and the RC hobby... Tom is quite a "anchor" man hehe
Well my Sea Fury is airworthy again, have charged it up and I have the trailed hooked up ready for a warbirds fly out at "Gratton Field" which is about 1.5 hrs west of here out in the Locyer Valley. Dunno why it is a valley as it is as flat as a nuns #$%% hehe
Got the boy this weekend so should be a nice time together.
Just finished 2nd week in my new job, all going well. I'm managing some large programs of work within electricty distribution, substations etc. Interesting work and will keep me out of mischief.
Will give the Seafury a good work out tomorrow and get my mate Ron to fly as well to guage how the G62 is performing. Based on last couple of flights might not need to re-egine with the GT-80.
still have some work to do on the P51 to get it air worthy again. Might get back to the 47 then.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Tom....
Looks like I'll be going to Toledo on Saturday morning also.
If you are still going there and are interested in meeting I can give you my cell # and we can hook up when we get there.
Let me know either way.
Thanks
Fabio

did not fly it the last time I went out as the field was too boggy from the rain.

Hello
Excellent day at the weak signal show. Boy I wish I had some of the skills of the builders that had masterpieces on display.
Very crowded and I have to remind myself to attend on a Sunday like in the past where you can find less people and more bargain.
Met with Tom, what a gentleman.
Thanks Tom for all your help and the riveting kit. All I need now is to finish the last model on the bench and start with the build.
Hopefully Tom if you think about IMAC look us up. Following is the link with pilot registration for the Great Lake Classic on 8/19 through 8/21 that's going to be held at our field.

Also here is a link for the pylon racing that we are doing at our club. Club40 racing is amazing fun on a budget and all the club should consider it.

Once again Tom thanks for meeting with me, you are a very special person.

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Here is a little sneak preview of Eugene's New T/F P-47 ARC. (Almost ready to Cover). He started on this Last Fall and is almost ready to Maiden. Since I have the metal working tools, he asked me to make him a bracket for the J-Tec Pitts Muffler.
Here is how I made the bracket. I used 1/8" X 1.5" Hot rolled steel. (I had it on hand). Made a cardboard template and traced out the shape on the steel plate. Used a belt sander to shape it. Then drilled a bunch of holes in it. I didn't do it to lighten it but instead to use it as a heat sink. Hopefully it'll work. Used a rive nut in the end of the muffler to attach it. Then used the High temp paint to paint it to keep it from rusting.

It was a Base coat Clear coat finish. His friend John Metzger painted it in the Body shop. The base coat is some silver paint that he had on hand left over from a job he did. Don't know which manufacturer it is. It does look good.
We have plans to balance it and weigh it tomorrow. If this is anything like his other jug then don't expect it to be to heavy. The last one was 24.5#. More pictures of the assembled product tomorrow.

Hey Pete
We had flood stage water in all of our rivers, then a little cold snap and they all went down a bit and now with 40deg. + days we are up to the critical stage closing roads 1 airport lots of sand bagging we are about 1/2 meeter from an all time hi flood.
Good thing is our field is hi and soggy but a coupla of more days of this weather and we can get out the beeters and fly
Cheers Bob T

mate hope those waters don't cause too many dramas over there for you. Can relate first hand to the effects! Nasty!
Take care and keep the feet dry!

Still got a tiny bit of work to do on the mustang, just a little hanger rash dent on leading edge to finish off, just needs a little sand, squirt of silver and it is done.
then back to the P47.
Work is going well, quite enjoying it. Got a big warbirds weekend over Easter so need to save some $$ to go to that as it is about a 3 hour drive from here and fuel has gone through the roof!
