RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Wanted to says thanks,

It was very reassuring to realize that everybody had issues with the wing jigs. When your're getting to the end of the "bulk" building phase and you see those wing saddles...

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Got a question for the pros out there. I'm getting ready to sheet the bottom of the wing. When I joined the wing halves, I measured and made sure I had the correct rise at the last rib( 6 and some...

There are some amazing planes on this post. I am at the point of attaching the lower wing skins and want to incorporate some lights into the wing. I am looking at the RAM systems, but they seem to...

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

I reviewed some of the sliding canopies and they all look great. The square stock and ball link seem to be reliable. I am building the razorback and didn't see any detailed sliders in that version....

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Tom or anybody else -

I am trying to get a handle on how to do a sliding canopy and I've got a million ideas swirling in my head. I can see several of you have done it and the last I saw were...

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Tom-

Beautiful machining. Sometimes it's a shame to hide it with a cowl. The g-62 mount is a sheet metal piece slightly larger than the case dimensions. I am just going to eliminate it. If...

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

Ron,

Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately I build faster than I think. The firewall and angle stock are all epoxied in place, so it would require amputating the front of the crutches to build the...

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!

I'm getting reeady to mount my G-62 and figured that using the Great Planes isolation mount puts me about 41-42mm short of the required location for the prop hub. Am I correct in this assumption?...

Top Flite P-47 Scale Details Question

I am in the beginning phases of a top flite p-47 giant scale build. I am to the point of fitting the stab and fin, with the upper 1/2 of the fuselage built and 1/2 sheeted. I have noticed some very...

RE: Saito Ti-200 twin fuel issues/Perry pump Q.

Single Carb engine. Actually came with medium-small fuel line from remote needle to carb. Could be the dubro. They seem covenient, but I guess if the thing doesn't rebound after you remove the probe...

Saito Ti-200 twin fuel issues/Perry pump Q.

I've got the Saito Ti-200 twin and I'm having problems getting the fuel flow to be correct for setting the mixtures and such. I've run it a few times and when it is running good, it is unbelievable....

Capacitor use is noise reduction

I just assembled the miglet and have the two fuselage halves cemented together. When I opened up the c-25 esc, it showed the use of the three small capacitors on the motor leads and can to reduce...

RE: Miglet brushless help

I have a different question for all of you regarding the miglet. I assembled mine using the stock stuff. I noticed after I had assembled the fan and glued the fuselage halves together that the speed...

Great Planes Ultimate Bipe question

I just finished assembling this electric ARF and am ready to fly, except for the balancing. The instructions place the c.g. 3 5/16" back from the the leading edge, but do not clarify if that is from...

RE: Alternate ESC options

I got back on Towers site and to avoid any confusion, just ordered the silver series 35 instead of the 25. All of the specs were similar with higher max amps, slightly heavier, and all connections...

RE: Perry Oscillating Pump Smoke - it's WORKS???

I was just browsing these forums and noticed this thread. There is an rc nut out there, Don Giandomenico, who has devised a neat smoke system using dubro smoke valves, perry pumps and a dedicated...

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

I'm setting up the pushrods for my elevators and I decided to use carbon fiber and threaded 4-40 rod. I bought a size that would allow a passive fit into the end of the rod. I was wondering what...

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon

Wonderful posts guys. I'm a newcomer still, so the tips here are great. I love the kit, but I'm doing a "stock build." I'm not going way out on the scale details because I'm still learning. What I...

RE: Dynaflight Super Decathlon Build

I did build in the washout correctly during the wing construction. The tube is pretty heavy duty, so I guess the sag would be minimal. When I fit the struts, I had the fuselage balanced on the nose,...

Dynaflight Super Decathlon Build

I've got a few simple questions (simple for someone who knows the answers ).

1. How the heck do you get the wheels to spin free on the 3/16" axle shaft. Drilling the wheels with a 3/16" bit...

RE: Dynaflight Decathalon

Thanks for the gas info. I am leaning towards gas after the pummeling the glow took. On last glow question - The person that said the US41 was a great match - They quoted it's power at 3 bhp. Ok,...

RE: Dynaflight Decathalon

Thanks for the glow comments - I really am still undecided, but the firewall construction is looming, so I've got to make the decision. The cowl will be closed - I believe. I'll have to measure it ....

RE: Dynaflight Decathalon

Quick question- it seems to me that everyone is so pro-gas that I'm not hearing any feedback on the glow options. Is the 1.82 Saito underpowered ? Is the price of glow fuel really that prohibitive...
