The screw on the end of clutch bell?
The screws holding the trans?

240-280 is about where you want it.
He is in palm springs CA and the weather there is normaly hot.

120 deg? Wow! slowly start leaning out that hsn(clockwise) remember only small adjustments(quarter turn) then run for a few minutes.

Keep you temp meter handy and test after each run,It will...

Yes fuel in muffler is normal and the factory setting should be set rich.
There should'nt be smoke at idle untill you apply the throttle.
At about a quarter throttle you should see a light smoke...

You might want to take front differential apart and look for damage.
While its apart clean and add a little grease.
Did all this happen after you replaced your front arms?

There are no aluminum or metal gears available at this time.
I'm all for trying to find a replacement for that gear set If it could be found or machined.

Wow,
The traxxas springs seem to last awhile.
Make sure there are no sharp edges inside the clutch bell or where the spring wraps around the clutch shoes.

It will be awhile still for sh .28 parts(sometimes it takes awhile to get a large order filled & shiped from overseas)
These parts are readly avaliable at all sorts of shops online ........

Did you try tightining the nut on the side of the gear?

The prebuilt diff gear set is part #08013

And if you want to rebuild the gears, part #08033

Are the servos hooked up to the reciver or operating at all?
or mabey even - servo reverse switch reversed on your controler?

If you can see the servo move the rite direction when you...
